Well that successfully extinguished any lingering hope i had that we might avoid being relegated. On the plus side we've at least surpassed Derby's record low point total.

Pope - 7 not much to do but reliable as ever

Roberts - 8 really impressed with his positivity and long throw could be a big weapon if we set up for it right

Tarkowski - 7 steady away, one last ditch tackle but feel that was brought on by him not being strong enough in the first challenge

Mee - 7 stitched up Tarkowski with one wayward pass but got his usual blocks in

Pieter's - 6 no real high or low points, did his job well enough, unfortunate that our best chances fell to him

Lennon - 7 very positive and wanting to take his man on, but hooked when there were other candidates

Stephens - 3 (+1 for lasting 90 mins) terrible. For those calling for Corks head, they need to watch this performance. Stumbling round the pitch with very little urgency and his passing, even simple 5 yard ones were often misplaced and put us under pressure or stifled promising breaks

Westwood - 5 busy enough but usual blind lumps round the corner come to nothing in these conditions

McNeil - 4 worst performance in a Burnley shirt. Didn't look like he fancied it at all, missing Taylor's support

Cornet - 6 as I mentioned on the match thread, he's never been anywhere near being a striker, so I'm not sure why we preservere with him up there, he's wasted.

Weghorst - 6 little support and with him being 6"6, other players naturally just thump it long to him not trusting his footballing ability

Rodriguez - 6 felt he should have replaced McNeil, put himself about and unlucky with flick header.

Pope 7 - Kicking a let down yet again, otherwise good
Roberts 6 - Shame after so good last week
Tarkowski 8 - Good game
Mee 7 - Some awful passing, but solid
Pieters 6 - Offers nothing going forwards

Lennon 5 - Didn't get into it
Westwood 4 - Didn't want the ball, passing so so bad
Stephens 6 - Decent game I thought, though some loose passing
McNeil 5 - Needs people to pass him the ball

Weghorst 5 - Not an ideal debut
Cornet 5 - Well off the pace

Against United Dyche simply must try 4-4-1-1 with McNeil in the 10. It’s just not happening for him out wide anymore. The midfield needs more passing options as the gap between them and strikers is too wide, plus Maxwel needs to operate out wide. It seems so obvious yet I don’t hold my breath. Thought we missed Charlie Taylor’s drive massively today, Pieters offers no where near as much.

Absolute ****. Cold, wet, miserable - that explains both how I’m feeling back in my car and that joke of a performance.

We are down, and whilst that has seemed inevitable for ages it’s still sad to say it with (now) certainty.

Early days but I personally thought Weghorst looked miles off the pace and reminded me of Nikola Zigic. Slower than I had hoped. Hope he improves…

Awful conditions and I got drenched to the skin. Relegation written all over it. We didn’t put a dent on Watford and wouldn’t have scored if we played all night. The gap between the front two and the midfield first half was plain to see. The most exciting part of the game was when the pillow blew on to the pitch. It just summed up the match. Someone came prepared for the expected borefest.

Pope - 6 - A couple of good saves. His kicking is getting worse. Simple stuff puts us under pressure.
Roberts - 4 - Couldn't find a claret shirt all night. No real overlaps, content just to hoick it forward.
Mee - 5 - Was lucky he didn't cost us a goal. If he wants longer than 2 year contract we should let him go, been on a downward trend for last 18 months.
Tarky - 6 - Some good, some bad.
Pieters - 5 - Nowhere near good enough
Westwood - 3 - How we didn't improve on centre mid is why we'll go down. Can't keep the ball, not strong enough.
Stephens - 4 - See above.
McNeil - 3 - Needs a rocket up his arse. Needs someone to grab hold of him and tell him to attack the fullback. Can only come from management that he checks and comes insider.
Cornet- 5- Two decent shots what he created himself. Ball just bypassed him as we hoofed it.
Weghorst - 3 - Well. Bloody hell. Too easily shackled by a terrible defence. Think he might have won one header.

Jay- 5- bit more impetuous

Scores contain an allowance for the conditions. In those conditions I thought Pope, Mee and Tarkowski, particularly the latter, were immense.

Cornet looked like he had spent 6 weeks near the equator which is as big a shock as you can get coming back to these conditions, and he has also lost Premier League sharpness. Weghorst did Ok but in the weather and with misfiring colleagues he was up against it.

We lost the centre midfield today. Stephens did OK but Westwood had a shocker. Sissoko ran the show in there.

It became a lottery so a “must win” became a “must not lose” for me, it was so tricky, evenly matched and a draw was fair. We can all see ways to play in those conditions but seeing it and doing it are very different, I suggest we be sympathetic and go again on Tuesday,

Pope: 7. A few good saves. Distribution shaky but conditions didn’t help at all
Roberts: 7. Didn’t do much wrong.
Tarks: 8. He is so solid. Pleasure to watch as a centre half
Mee: 7. Mostly strong, one particularly bad error
Pieters 6. No where near as good as Taylor coming forward.
Lennon 7. Started really bright. Faded second half.
Westwood 5: we were poor in centre mid today
Stephens: 4. Really poor retention. Sloppy.
McNeil 4. I really like him normally, but he really didn’t look up for it today. Barely showed for the ball, was sloppy and generally looked like he didn’t want the ball.
Cornet: 5 looked off the pace. Could still have nicked it for us though
Wenghurst: 6. Nice couple of touches here and there. Think it may take a while to get used to the pace of the premier league

JRod: 7. Looked bright and up for it. Absolutely amazed at the 4 ratings up the thread.

Thought Weghorst did well considering, Cornet clearly needs to be on the wing, Stephens was a lot better than Westwood (but still poor, which gives you a clue how bad Westwood was)

Pleased with a clean sheet, but we have to find a formation or a way that gets the best out of our players, particularly the attack minded ones

And our absolute inability to play it through midfield (a combination of our tactics and how poor we are there) means a team that have kept no clean sheets all season looked pretty comfortable (as did we)

10/10 for the weather though, thats about as bad as it gets
