Those conditions. I was well wrapped up but shivering for much of the game. I’ve sat in the same seat since the stand opened in 1996 and I think that’s one of the worst I’ve experienced.

One of the biggest pluses of the Jan transfer window is that Tarks will see out the season with the Clarets.

"We actually have one point more at half way than we had three years ago, but then we recalled Tom Heaton and brought in youngster Dwight McNeil"

Can anyone provide a similar spark for us this time? I'm not feeling too hopeful.

Not sure where all the 19500 plus were sat unless Turf Moor has been extended to accommodate 30000 plus !

Reading the comments on here about getting on to the ground and getting drinks etc makes me think that more and more supporters will turn to watching on tv or even worse they will stop watching at all

Question for CT. I know Sean Dyche is in charge of the first team but who is actually in charge of Burnley FC ? Is it Alan Pace who is single handedly running the show or do others run the various departments and report to him ? Whoever is making the final decisions re the team the stadium the public relations the player recruitment the academy etc etc seems to be royally screwing up. As you know I live abroad and sadly don’t see live matches but I I do see every first team game ( except fa cup) and quite a few under 23 matches on tv. I don’t see anything at either level that makes me excited for the future of our club. So who is at fault and what in your opinion should be done to change our club on and off the field

That and the game against Leicester in about 2006 (it got called off after about 10 minutes if I remember right?) are the only games I can recall since the new stands opened that were anything like last night.

I’d say Peterborough was colder as it was obviously snow, and certainly trying to escape in the car at full time was a nightmare (took 2.5 hours to get to Todmorden that night) but last night was the worst in my opinion. The swirling wind and incessant rain was absolutely terrible. At least against Peterborough, a late (and superb) winner from Jay Rod sent us home happy - last night I struggle to recall being more thoroughly miserable when I got back to my car.

Fortunately Just over two miles. As for garden, there’s all kinds of rubbish blown in. Sadly nothing of any value or interest.

Summed up nicely, including the exit. Got a shoe load of water, after wading through an unseen puddle!

I think we have guts in our squad and with even a modicum of luck, we will scramble out of this...just.

A goal or several will raise the team morale, without a doubt.

Second lowest scorers in the PL (only relegation threatened Norwich have scored fewer) and failed to score in home games against Norwich and Watford (managed to keep first clean sheet in the PL for over a year).

No real sign of us turning any corners (or scoring from them). :x

I loved the gem of a line about the weather " a number of strange items arriving in my back garden" - brilliant !

I do get the impression from your reports that the enjoyment factor is slowly diminishing as is the case with myself, albeit for possibly different reasons.
We certainly need a spark, I thought that was going to come from Lennon, but was subbed hey ho !

Dyche needs come up with a bit of magic from somewhere.

The spark can only come from 1 thing. A change of formation and a reprieve from his box on the left touchline for Dwight.

Good report that probably sums up how many fans are feeling.

There's just a real feel-bad factor around the whole place at the moment. It's certainly not enjoyable right now.

Still. We'll be there again on Tuesday.

Just a horrible day in every respect yesterday. Parked in car park up by the courts for quick getaway. Soaked walking to the ground. Awful, awful game. Soaked walking back to car, daughter stood in a few of those deep puddles en route. No quick getaway onto M65 due to that nonsense on the approach to and up Gannow Top pushing everyone into one lane. Only bright spot was the heated seats and car heater warmed us up quickly during the miserable rainy journey back to the Midlands.
As Sean says, we go again. Hope it isn’t p1ssing down on Tuesday night.

I don’t know what is happening and I don’t think Mr Pace does either. If he hired a team of consultants to look at our match day operations he would soon be enlightened. They might even be able to assist on the football front also.

My personal take on the weather was that it was horrible as we entered the first pub but by the time we had left the third it had dramatically improved to barely noticeable.

Clearly there was a good number of people who attended the match entirely sober and frankly, given the portents - a side that doesn't score that many against a side that has spent ten minutes in the company of Roy Hodgson - I have little sympathy!

The only surprise was the Irish bar at the bottom of Manchester Road that didn't sell Cask Ale. But as my son said "these new pubs don't tend to sell old man beer". I, after considering the weather, invited him to Duck (or similar) off and decided to watch the Rugby on TV.

Just looked back on the table from season 18/19 when after 19 games we only had 12 points. Walking out after the 5-1 drubbing by Everton I genuinely thought that we were doomed.

The table at time, where most teams had played an even amount of games had the bottom team Huddersfield on 10 points whilst Crystal Palace in 14th had 19 points, we were in 18th on the 12 points. This year we are bottom on 13 points with Brentford in 14th on 23 points with them having played from 4 games more.

After 24 matches in 18/19 we had 23 points so in the five matches after Everton we amassed 11 points and put a 4 point gap between us on 17th and Cardiff in 18th. This to me suggest that the next 5 matches will decide our season if we can get 2 wins and a draw I will be happy.

I would rather go into the the final 19 matches with the strikers we have now than we had then.

Excellent report as usual CT. I also like to remain positive as our PL status is far from untenable. That said last time we were in this predicament we brought back Tom Heaton who was a leader and his vocal support appeared to rejuvenate the team. This time we appear short of leaders and warriors and at present, for me appear to lack in energy and any conviction. Yes we've done well on the road at places like Arsenal and Chelsea but the team with the odd exception appear shrinking violets at home. I don't have great expectations in our next two games but what I would like to see is more graft, energy and urgency to get the crowd back on board and involved and give us some hope.

Along with Everton, we have the best goal difference in the bottom 7.
