bonus payments
bonus payments
Not giving up on this season yet but was giving a thought as to what might happen if things do not go our way....a huge re build of the squad in the summer will be rquired.....however with ooc players leaving ....sales of others ....parachute payment.....and presumably less wages due to no bonus for staying up etc ...surely the kitty available should help a squad rebuild to be very competitive in the championship ?

I’m no football knowledge but I’d hope there’s a rebuild around Collins Roberts Cornet etc and SD doesn’t rely on the old boys as much….

He won't. He knows they have done a fabulous job over the years but he'll be aware it's time for a clearout.

My feeling is it's a pity he's wasn't aware of it sooner.evensteadiereddie wrote: ↑Mon Feb 07, 2022 4:45 pmHe won't. He knows they have done a fabulous job over the years but he'll be aware it's time for a clearout.

Re: bonus payments
It would be naive to think that Sean Dyche has not been wanting to replace llaters at every opportunity. It is the natural, movement to decrease the age of your squad. New young energy to assist the older legs and the experience being passed on.
He, we and the club have been Garlicked.

Re: bonus payments
That's a very short term view. If it hadn't been for Garlick and co, we probably would never have got to the Premier League in the first place.IanMcL wrote: ↑Mon Feb 07, 2022 7:28 pmIt would be naive to think that Sean Dyche has not been wanting to replace llaters at every opportunity. Re: bonus payments
If we go down it might be as much as 20m saved in bonus payments.
Dyche will lose 2m by his self.

Re: bonus payments
Given there has been no change to CM personnel for a couple of years would not be surprised, if relegation occurs, that Dyche thinks the current set will be good enough for the Championship

Re: bonus payments
not really - the last set of accounts demonstrated we paid no more than £16m (probably less) in bonus payments when we finished 10th,Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Tue Feb 08, 2022 5:59 pmIf we go down it might be as much as 20m saved in bonus payments.

13 months wages (including bonus) = £100m
12 months wages (including bonus) = £94m
gives an outline salary cost of £6m in July
all players including those at the end of contract get paid in July so this is a good average number
12 x £6m = £78m
£94m - £78m = £16m
factor in the wages of Drinkwater less than the wages of Brownhill over the first half of the season and we are closer to £15m for the bonus that season
also it is believed Dyche's bonus was £3,5m at the time - if it is less now then overall bonuses may have dropped

If Dyche's bonus has gone down then his guaranteed will have rose sharply. He's not stupid and took ages to sign.

Re: bonus payments
more about trying to help all readers understand what we pay in bonuses - this was the first time we have been able to get as close as this to understanding how much we actually pay in bonuses
