Inhumane. If people can treat animals like this they will have no qualms about being violent to humans also.

He's only sorry because he got caught

There are some out there who still think footballers are role models for their own kids

Was it his brother who filmed it and subsequently posted it? If so the pair of them must condone cruelty to animals. Pair of scumbags.

There isn't any words are there?

I mean, we may be absolutely terrible at times as a country ignoring criminal acts, but attacking a pet is going to get everyone going for him

He'll be sold in the summer

I think it's a sign of a pyscopath. Doesn't mean they are one of course, but it is a marker.

I was in town yesterday and saw a young child (maybe around 6 or 7) kicking pigeons. Her mum was talking to another woman and had her back turned. I just politely told the mum what was happening. It led to me being subjected to a barrage of abuse from them and then an older woman and I was then threatened physically by some lad who was obviously part of the group but initially stood away from them.

Sometimes I just feel thankful for being old. I fear for my children and grandchildren though when I am long gone. Society is going down the toilet.

At least you were decent enough to confront them. Many would simply put their heads down and walk on.

Some of these people are so stupid. Another one that, given the small sample size on here, is going to be pretty much universally vilified by the fans from now on. That’s before we even think about what other teams players and even his own players think about him given they probably mostly have pets themselves. Anyone harming defenceless animals or humans is clearly wired up incorrectly.

That’s absolutely awful Tony. I truly despair at parts of society at the moment. I had a similar incident but fortunately wasn’t subjected to that kind of abuse. I saw a kid doing the same thing outside Oddies. The parent was aware but doing nothing about it. I politely brought it to her attention under the pretence that she might not have seen it, and she reluctantly called the kid away.

All anyone can do is keep trying to do the right thing, but it’s appalling that there should be risk attached to that.

Always thought that cruelty to animals tended to signify a deeper and more fundamental nastiness.

No idea where the warrior for social justice thing comes in.

Don't agree with this at all.

Intelligent people can be cruel, violent and uncivilized. Low intelligence people can be polite, well-mannered and brought up with high standards.

I don't think intelligence has much to do with it at all.

According to the BBC website Mr Zouma "would like to assure everyone that our two cats are perfectly fine and healthy......
They are loved and cherished by our entire family, and this behaviour was an isolated incident that will not happen again." Just up the road from Mr Zouma at Colchester Zoo are some fine and healthy Amur Tigers which are loved and cherished by many thousands of admirers like myself. Perhaps he and his equally gormless brother would like to try their luck in a kick around with them? The same website article says that the RSPCA are investigating. If ever they wanted to make a point then surely this is it...... such behaviour is unforgiveable....In my opinion, you have to be fundamentally evil to do something like that and as such I don't buy the "will not happen again" statement. This moron wants locking up! Disgrace!

Because seemingly that's what people do nowadays, daft in the extreme, as if the incident is investigated that post could potentially be used as evidence I assume. society we now live in, however it would be naive to assume such events didn't take place prior to social media, it's just now everyone wants to share their entire life story to the world.

while what he did was deplorable, I do feel uneasy at all the booing. In the light of all the progress the black lives matter movement has made in football over the last 18 months, seeing a crowd of mostly white middle aged men all booing viciously at a black man don't sit right with me.

In my experience, an accident of birth into a certain social class is an unreliable predictor as to whether someone is likely to be a total " helmet " !

I was at University in Reading, which in the mid 1980's, had a very well regarded " Land Management " Department which unsurprisingly attracted students who's families had large amounts of er, " land " to manage. One or two were t***ers, but I found that the wealthier they were, the more pleasant they were. That said, having lived in Burnley now for over thirty years, my two closest friends were brought up in relatively humble homes, and have done well in life through dint of their own efforts ...

Without over-generalising, it's also true that some other European Countries do not care for animals in the same way the British do ....

In France, Bull fighting is still practised in Provence as is the barbaric system of trapping wild songbirds with glue traps. Cock fighting is still legal in parts of northern France. The UK has significantly higher welfare standards for veal calves than the European Union, and of course, the practice of " gavage " ( the force feeding of corn to geese & ducks ) to produce fois-gras still continues in France, recently confirmed as legal by the French Government as part of their " gastronomical & cultural heritage " ...

In George Orwell's 'Down and out in Paris and London', there is section towards the end where he mentions that London is the only city in the world where a cat can sit in the doorway of a shop and everyone will carefully step over it, whereas, everywhere else, the cat would be booted out of the way.

He’s dropped the cat from 3 foot and then pushed it along a tiled floor with his foot. Not nice but he’s not punted the cat through a first floor window! Fine him 2 weeks wages and give it to a cat sanctuary!
