Mighty Clarets versus Reds

Madge is braving the weather to get us fired up, once again, for yet another big match.

Klopp and co on the run from our marauding heroes, will be a nice outcome for all Clarets.

Up the Clarets

Thought I'd add to my numerous posts and login to say I'm ever the optimist. The second half against Man Utd has given me renewed hope. We'll have to get lucky against Liverpool to get anything from the game but why not?
Weghorst and JRod makes me much more hopeful than Wood & A.N.Other have done in recent times.

Keep it 0-0 for as long as we can. Longer it stays like that, more frustrated they will be, the more animated klippety will become. Hit em late on the break. 1-0 Burnley. Come on.

I really wanna “Burnley” this lot.

Forecast of 39 mph winds and raining hard but not quite as bad as it was v Watford right now.

Hoping for a point. :geek:

Just been stood in it for 90 minutes. Truly horrendous conditions. Can’t recall them being worse vs Watford.

Such a shame its very windy,it will spoil our flowing football and enhance Liverpools long ball game .

About time McNeil was taken out of the firing line, been poor so much lately.

After his poor form recently I actually thought McNeil did really well in 2nd half v United.

About time he got himself a new (better) club, IMO.

Bold move to drop McNeil as he usually plays well v liverpool, but its good to have him on the bench, and it might be what focuses him

Ballsy move on this basis, I’d say.

I think McNeil was reaching the point he needed a rest and protection from the fans but I wouldn’t have chosen this game to do it.

No surprise to see Dwight dropped. I think it will do him good.
With all the games to catch up on, playing twice a week will be the norm, and Dwights biggest flaw imo, is he doesn't have a massive engine.
I hope he comes on early second half, and rips TAA a new one.
With Max and Dwight vying for the same spot, neither is better on the right, and Lennon is in his natural position, then one of them has to drop out, and Max just isn't droppable at the moment. You could make a case for Max playing off WW, and Dwight going left, but Jay deserves another run out, and it would be great if he and WW can form a partnership.

Wood still leading the line at Newcastle, so that’s a bonus.

I don't mind McNeil being dropped. Needs to learn that trying to take on 3 players with 5 minutes to go at 1-1 and losing it in his own half is completely unacceptable

Bad move dropping Dwight against a team like this. Our most prolific tackler. Our full backs are going to have a hard job today with their support being lennon and cornet.

Surprised nobody has picked up on their line-up. Pretty solid MF but none of them great creators. I think Klippetty has come for the point. Biggest threat their FBs so sit Lennon and Max on them and we’ll be reyt.

Clear defensive move by Dyche - obviously favouring Lennon’s tracking back over McNeil’s, especially on the right

No issue with dropping McNeil but in squad terms it’s criminal that Lennon is his replacement.

Quite Dwight could have cost us the game on Tuesday, and he needs to learn there's a time to play, and a time to just get rid or keep it simple.

Yeah in a team that can’t keep possession as it is, let’s just tell the one player that looks to keep the ball and has the highest pass completion percentage to start panicking like the rest of them when he gets the ball. In fact, let’s just drop that player and bring in another hot potato player.

I assume Maxwell will be required to track back to support Pieters against TAA. Hope it doesn’t end in tears. Bit of a free hit today but we do need Villa to turn up at Newcastle.

Your argument is that a team who can't keep posession should not drop a player who needlessly gave away possession?
