I've often wondered what difference the result makes to the average scores for a referee. If we win, are they generally higher ratings?

I do not mark referees or players, however, I thought that Graham Scott had one of his best games tonight in a match played in very difficult conditions and in which Harry Kane and one or two other Spurs players tried to influence his decision making. He stuck to his guns and made very few, if any, wrong decisions.
I never thought that I would say that about him after some poor performances in the past.

Are we talking Graham Scott or Harry Kane?
Scott looked in awe of some Spurs players. Happy for him he didn't have a big decision to make. He would have bottled that.

Think I mentioned it on the match thread, Kane really started working on Scott when we were on top, first half. And rarely let up.
To his credit, he just let the game go on.
Personally thought he did well, in atrocious conditions.

No problem with his performance tonight. Let the game go on when he could taking the conditions into account.

No problem with Graham this evening as he'd forgotten his cards and at least that affected both teams (although it adversely affected Burnley an awful lot more!!)

Mentioned it several times on the match thread that he did well. How some posters can be so precise with marking referees down never ceases to amuse me. It's like ' It's a knock out ' against referees for amusement

It has always been the case, and not just on this board! The media often mark referees with 6 out of 10, even when they have been outstanding.
These days, with players falling over if someone blows on them, holding their face when an arm has brushed their chest etc., etc. the officials have my utmost sympathy, however, they do make mistakes and we, as fans, need to accept that. It's a pity that many managers are unable to do the same!

15 Them 4 yellow cards should have been yellow cards. The ones on Weghorst and the one where he played advantage for Brownhill being clattered were as obvious bookings as you'll see all season. Instead he changed the rules to compensate for the weather (I guess) so I have to mark him down.
25 He was consistent with no bookings and his general approach to the game.

20 Didnt have any of the nonsence. Might have booked Eric Dier for having a go at the linesman but that was a rare blemish to be fair.

One of the referees I dread but hands up tonight and he stood up to the Kane gang trying to influence him all night. They were even at him after the final whistle.

I really wasn’t sure what their beef was at the full time whistle. Dier continued to have a go at him for about a minute.

By far the best game I have seen from him. He could/should have deal much more harshly with Dier and Kane who was in his ear all night.

To be fair I was livid when he didn't even talk to Son never mind book him, ( and another I forgot )
But to his credit he then allowed Mee and another for us to go without a talking to or card too.
So very even and fair in that respect.
A better display than I expected from him, he didn't even buckle to Harry when we went 1 up, he just shrugged every time he complained about Pope to him.

Probably along the lines of ref, you didn't read the script.

Didn't like the award of the free kick we scored from, apparently.

Thought he stood up to Kane’s attempts to take over refereeing duties very well. Pleasantly surprised.

Not sure what Spurs were moaning about at the end, penalty claim? At least Scott was not influenced by the tantrum’s of Dier and co.

Helped Spurs by not booking them and allowed some opportunities to place the ball where they wanted.
However, he just let the conditions to prevail and that was good.
Added time?
I thought I saw 1 minute displayed??? Obviously insufficient. He then played about 4.
Perhaps the number or my eyesight was wrong.

3 minutes were shown on the board.

And he played 3 minutes. Pope was taking the goal kick from 92.50 and Scott blew as soon as it was back in play around 93.30.

Three minutes on the board and he played three minutes.
