If you're not interested in skiing, please move on.
A couple of points : I've just got back from Madonna di Campiglio, a village just up the valley from it to be more precise, and the whole ski area is superb.Lots of reds and a few blacks but challenging enough. I always thought St. Anton, Lech and Zurs were unbeatable but not so.
The Italians, the resort and the hotel - the Golf - were as stylish as you'd expect and I thoroughly recommend M d C if you are ever thinking of going.
It looks to be a pretty decent Summer resort with loads of walking and biking too.
My second point is regarding Obertauern. I'm heading out there next week and from what I've seen on youtube, it looks pretty good
Anybody been - any tips on the "Apres Mile" - the long line of street bars would be especially helpful, given the mob I'm going with.
Madonna from the Grosti, the resort's highest point.

Again, I guess I'm not the only bloke to say they're absolutely knackered after spending a week in Madonna....

If you're talking about a mile of apres ski, then you're likely referring to Solden rather than Obertauern. Having been to many Austrian resorts, I would absolutely give it a swerve. It's a main road of seedy strip joints and not your typical Austrian family friendly, all shapes/sizes/ages apres. The Nederhutte in Obertauern at full swing is one of the best apres ski bars i've been to. Much smaller than a Moosewirt or Kuhstall but loads of fun. Very jealous, enjoy the trip!

IB52 - Clearly in Ober my head. You're spot on. Haven't been to Obertauern for a long time but it used to be the Edelweiss on the slopes which had a brilliant atmosphere and then down to the Lurzer Alm for a few more afterwards. Too long since i was there to comment really. At least you know to avoid Solden in future though, so many other excellent Austrian resorts. If you find St Anton fun, then you'd love Ischgl too.

The blokes I'm going with, some lads from Huddersfield, are veterans of Ischgl and its goings on...
