Hard for the kids to realise what this one meant. My lad's 15 now, he's been going for 10 years and he's never seen us lose to them.

Rhodes hitting the post is a real ‘sliding doors’ moment in Burnley FC history.

Outstanding from Sean at the end when he just walked to the Darwen End and pointed at the massed Clarets. He knew what that victory meant.

No applause that day, just the pointed finger telling us that this one was for us.

As a Burnley born lad who went to school in Blackburn in the 90s, and endured the ever present taunts, this was a fantastic birthday present from Sean and the lads.

I didn’t realise until this result how much a victory over Blackburn would mean to me. I’d written it off as never going to happen in my lifetime after first witnessing the Jack Walker investment and subsequent Premier League title whilst we continued to struggle.

No connection with Blackburn like yourself but I remember asking jdrobbo & MDWat whether finally seeing us beat them was as good as they expected. Both said it was much better. Me? I'd suffered all those years without a win, it remains one of the more special days for me watching the Clarets.

The game was pre-this website but I did publish my report five years ago on here, I just thought it should be on here. It includes lines such as: "The wait is finally over. No more can they throw 35 years at us. No more can they taunt us in such a way." and "They are not hurting us anymore."

Spine tingling stuff and always will be. SD's reaction at the end was brilliant and only bettered (imo) by his reaction as he walked off at Birmingham after we'd won there during the second promotion, when he stuck his chin out and kept pointing to his "strong jaw".

There was a melting pot of emotions for me. There was joy and pride but there was also a lot of relief than anything else that we'd got the monkey off our backs. And there was a growing anticipation that we WERE going to get promoted.

I swore I'd never be herded over the their place ever again, given the indignity and waste of time it is having to get bussed in and out of their godforsaken hellhole like criminals.

Fantastic memories.

Is Jordan Rhodes still worth £9m ?

Is Fatty Dunn still a pie sampler for Hollands?

The moment our winner went in captured by the local paper. One of my favourite pictures of me with loads of mates around me.

Always brings a smile seeing it.
