Could this be the beginning of the end for Chelsea.
I really hope so.

Wonder if the no selling tickets will mean no away fans?

Does this mean Chelsea has been frozen and can't be sold?

In a different article it says:
“That will allow fixtures to be fulfilled, staff to be paid and existing ticket holders to attend matches,” Ms Dorries said, “while, crucially, depriving Abramovich of benefiting from his ownership of the club.”
So I guess 'existing ticket holders' means no away fans.

They've so many talented youngsters on their books that get loaned out. They'll just use them to supplement the first team if they can't make any signings.
Weren't they under a transfer embargo no so long ago?

No further ticket sales.
Merchandising stopped.
The Club has been seized, effectively blocking any sale.
Pi$$ing my self laughing at this, just imagine the angst amongst all those diamond geezers.

Yeah, that's why they gave Lampard the managers job and he actually did well then, better than when they could sign players.

That could get interesting.

They apparently have around 28,000 season ticket holders, but could still affect them on the pitch I guess, with a capacity of over 40,000.

At the simplest level, I suppose if money from ground refreshments go to the club they won't be able to sell them at games

Very interesting.
It’s all very well stopping ticket sales and merchandising but the biggest issue is the tv revenues. If you stop the shop and tickets what happens to the sky money, surely that gets stopped. Therefore, they need to pay players from existing assets and no Sky money comes in. Sky are still advertising their next game.

Read yesterday they might be in for a points deduction. I bloody hope so.
Outrageous how they should be able to break the rules for four years while clubs like ours play by them.

So effectively the TV money is treated the same as an agreed regular payment for a season ticket. Looks like there will be little or no effect on the actual club other than the cheaper travel arrangements and limited attendances.

The majority of these "diamond geezers" are no different to the people on here where watching their football club is a big part of their life and for some it probably plays a large factor in managing their mental health and wellbeing. Abramovich is the problem not the normal football fan and I find it really sad that people are so quick to laugh at other peoples problems.
I hope if you face difficulties in your life that the people around you give you support and dont just laugh and mock you

Not much impact in the short term but it will be significant if it goes on for a while.

Their wage bill will be far higher than money coming in. I presume RA didn't leave much in the club accounts?
Have I read it right that any loan fees from other clubs stops? Will that mean Chelsea loan players won't play for their clubs from now?

Any deals agreed before the sanctions will continue as normal, so that includes loan fees, players wages, TV monies etc.

There isn't a right lot they can do tbh.
All pre-existing deals can carry on, so the club can function as per the special licence.
The Gov can, and probably will, take control of the sale of the club, to ensure Abramovich doesn't get the money, the PL will have no control over that.

The market for billionaires willing to spend money without a care in the world is very limited now though

It wouldn’t be the first time the the Prem have bent over and “taken one for the team” . Though as GIADJ says probably not a lot they can do directly as Chelsea will continue to run as per normal and the govt will likely broker the sale . If it’s true that buyers are “ queuing up” I think they’ll be fine . Though a heavily delayed sale may cause them no end of carnage .

By heck the Clarets aren’t half unlucky.
We get Leicester, Vardy does us in one game, returns from injury to do us in another game, then gets injured again shortly after.
Chelsea turn up, more or less full strength, roared on by their (foul) fans. Then they won’t have away fans for future fixtures.
Add to to the bad luck with injuries when we went to Leeds and Newcastle, and numerous other things over the season (not getting pens etc). We’ve been up against it.
Back on topic though - other clubs will be getting a bit twitchy too, owned by shall we say dubious persons. Once we have done something once, it becomes easier to do it again.

Doesn't Roman put money into the club for it to run? Seems odd, he doesn't take money out of it, is this just for reputation damage?
Can the players chip in for travel- if they progress in Europe no way can they travel on that budget (unless they get an English team).

I read that accounts needed to be updated by end of this month? In which case presumably any sanctions would take effect this year?
My hope was that PL might learn from EFL’s mistakes with Boro/Wycombe scenario and actually dish out the punishment more quickly… but probably not.

I thought it was no away fans at Stamford Bridge.
Ticket sales for their away games go to the home club so, nothing goes to Chelsea so I don’t see why that would be the case

Points deductions do happen on a regular basis, but usually to FL clubs, Derby & Sheff Wed are just 2 who spring to mind, but I'm sure there's been a few others who've suffered, however pretty slim chance of Everton being penalised I'm afraid, and any punishment wouldn't apply this season anyway, particularly when they are at great risk of relegation.

I certainly don’t feel sorry for them. They still have an incredibly talented squad, top class manager and probably outstanding youth set up. Most of the supporters will have season tickets. They will have another sugar daddy when it all blows over and 90% of English clubs would gladly swap.

If that’s the case, what about the cup games they may have (FA & Champions League)
They’ve probably already sold for next round of games but if they go through and know it’s different authority with FA & UEFA but the sanctions do include those

It makes it a bit easier to laugh at them after seeing a load of them singing his name last week though.
Lots of Burnley fans have sung some terrible stuff about people including their death and Im sure the Chelsea fans have had a lot of goading (you just had to look at some of the threads on here) by other fans and this tribal mentality on both sides is a bit sad when it plummets into subjects as important as what is happening in the Ukraine.
A group of Chelsea fans singing Abramovich's name (likely in response to equally tasteless chants from opposition fans) does not make me want to laugh at the many true football fans and want to see them suffer and not able to follow and support one of the things they love the most in life.
If you want to laugh at them then fair enough but I really don't get this kind of attitude and for me its a reflection of the general sad state of our society
