We have a massive 11 games left. Our game in hand, if won, will take us above Leeds.
Huge disappointment today but, hopefully, Ben Mee will be back soon.
Keep the faith!

What reason have we to believe we can do anything in any other game? The team falls to bits in the crunch games when it matters.
The lot of them are big girls blouses, as my Granddad would say.

What Jedi said. The disappointing thing today is its yet another chance to climb out of the bottom 3 and we have failed again. That's mentality.

I hope I’ll be similarly optimistic come the morning but right now I’m about to drive all the way back up north after an hour and a half of singing myself hoarse for a crap performance and a worse result, and I’m doubting that we deserve to stay up.

Gargling?
She’s finished gargling, been on stage and done her ‘turn’, smashed the encore, gone back to the dressing room, walloped a bottle of Prosecco, got a Uber home, took the dog out, had a shower, chucked her Jim jams on and is now tucking into a box of Dairy Milk on the settee.
She had a great nite.

It began in August with 38 massive games. The first game was a setback and we've never really recovered from that. As someone posted on another thread it is stale and the manager's intransigence which served us so well in his earlier, fresher days is now taking its toll on players and supporters alike. I sincerely hope I am proved wrong but the three worst teams get relegated and we are most definitely in that category.

I'd love to share your positivity but before today's game, the last relegation spot was between us, Leeds, Everton and Brentford. Three points to Brentford rules them out and because we haven't gained on Everton with their games in hand, probably keeps them out of it.
Now it's down to us and Leeds and who's worse, a pint of p*ss or a sh*t sandwich.

Not happening at all. Sadly, we’re down and exactly what we deserve with our hoofball tactics. Exceptionally frustrating given I do think we had the players to survive and a chairman capable of strengthening us.

Did you watch the match today? Hoofball and no plan B get rid of Dyche we need a manager who plays positive football - this set of players is capable of winning matches but the manager keeps with the same framework that doesn't work.

Leeds will beat Norwich tomorrow and be 5 points clear of us.
Everton are ahead of us and have 2 games in hand with 2 home games to come.
By the time we play, even beating City won't get us out of the bottom 3.

This time it has a markedly different feel to it. We had the perfect platform after those 7 points from 3 games to build momentum but Dyche preferred to stick with Westwood and McNeil when they should have been dropped. Those poor team selections make a mockery of any previous ' strong jaw' bragging

Hard to disagree, but I think today was more about being over tense and for that given our experience has to be something that Dyche has to be looking at himself and his staff as well as his players. SD’s comments about Cornet have been picked up by some, but for me he has accepted Cornet is battling McNiel for a place not the strikers. I would also argue when fit we should consider our full back options (I’d even have 2 on the bench) to give us more solidity / attacking options - mainly because other managers have clearly worked out if you keep Roberts/Taylor on the back foot, eventually you will get chances.

Ultimately it is still in our hands. Win our game (games depending on the Leeds result today) and then match their results fir the rest of the season and they go down.
Either way I renewed our season tickets today.

Thanks for the positivity! But if Leeds only draw or lose and Everton lose their 2 games in hand things will look different!

I’m hoping that the toxic atmosphere at Leeds continues. An early goal for Norwich could really set the home fans off.
It’s all pretty irrelevant if we continue putting in these dire displays though.

Occasionally a team down the bottom will find the form to pull away but more often than not, it's the least worst team that survives. Just looked at Leeds and Everton's run in (as well as ours) and points will be hard to come by. The revert back to our standard form is very worrying but it's far from over and will change on a weekly, if not daily basis.

We've won THREE out of 27 games.
Three.
So what makes some people think we're going to go on a mazy run of victories? Because we're going to have to win five.
I think the obese woman in question has already sung, packed away her microphone and pi$$ed off home.

Right now if Dyche dived in a barrel of t!ts he come up sucking his thumb.
He stumbled across a winning formula a few games back and has made a Horlicks of it from there on in
My faith in his magical powers are quickly evaporating and I don't see any change in style or enjoyment levels in the Championship next season unfortunately

I think we're more likely to go down than not, and have thought as much all season. But I won't be giving up while there's a reasonable possibility of surviving, and I certainly don't expect the manager, coaches and players to give up either. There needs to be as much unity as possible during difficult times.

When you watch the pre match training videos on Clarets Player has anyone ever seen them practicing shooting?
All I ever see is running backwards and forwards and passing the ball to each other.. Do they not practice tactics and free kicks, corners and throw ins?. What do the coaches actually do?

If what we see is the sum of the coaching, then there is much wrong. However, that would not be it, by far.
He says hopefully!
We only see warm ups and chatter.

Look at the must win games in previous seasons - Palace, Cardiff, Fulham and Wolves spring to mind
You have players like Arfield, Barton, Boyd, Marney, Vokes and yes Wood and you know they would run through a brick wall for the cause
Not seeing that this time - it's not over but you experiment with the evolution from grit and determination to quality and technical ability and it's a fine margin - just ask Stoke, Swansea and West Brom. There's still time to put it right but at the moment we are the wrong side of that margin. We have the players let's hope they are fit, available and most importantly selected

We need 4-5 wins to survive and with fixtures coming up we can achieve that.
Everton's run in is horrendous and they're in serious trouble.

It's in our hands and it has been since day 1 of the season to stay in this league. But the fact is is that when the team above you scores in the 98th minute in a match low on quality and also with 10 men, that must give them a boost for the rest of the season. We are on the ropes now, we need 5 wins now and the odd draw from the remaining 10 games (ignore City). Its looking bleak but you never know in football.

Look on the bright side - if Newcastle can defend like that when they aren't safe and the points still matter, what will they defend like on the last day of the season? Just pick up a win or three before then ...
