Looking good for a few local derbies next season
Looking good for a few local derbies next season
Discussion for those resigned to the drop obvs...
Wigan look good for return to the Championship, with games in hand
Huddersfield and Blackburn can't both go up looking at the table
Preston and Blackpool both mediocre
Shame Watford and Norwich are so crap, we could have had Everton, too.

Re: Looking good for a few local derbies next season
Absolutely. Plenty of fantastic away trips on the cards next season. It'll be great to turn up to every game knowing we stand a good chance of winning, rather than looking at the calendar and thinking "oh great, the Etihad tomorrow, we'll be lucky to keep it down to 3".
I just hope we have something of a clear-out over the summer and a long over due refresh.

Agreed, if we go down it will be good to visit some of the more local away grounds again.

I wouldn't rule out either for the play offs yet. Blackpool on good form and I believe Preston have only lost twice since their new manager took over in December. Both 6 points off the play offs with 10 games to go, not impossible.

Less possible than us staying up though.

Why can’t Huddersfield and Blackburn both go up ?ian wrote: ↑Sat Mar 12, 2022 6:08 pmDiscussion for those resigned to the drop obvs...

Probably because they're highly unlikely to be in the top 2, so can only be via the Play Offs, hence both can't go up.

So you'd miss out on watching us beat them just because you have to go 8 miles on a bus!ElectroClaret wrote: ↑Sat Mar 12, 2022 6:35 pmNot doing Deadwood if they still have the coach business... can't be doing wi that.

A word normally used by 12 year olds who watch Danny Dyer on tv. When it is used by someone over the age of 15 they expose themselves as being weird

VAR is on the way for The Championship, a cut back light version anyway, whatever that means.

Re: Looking good for a few local derbies next season
Season after next. So hopefully we’d be on full VAR in the PL anyway! I think var is actually needed in that league, some of the decisions I’ve seen lately have been horrendous. To think we’ve had some bad officiating in the Prem, jeez we are in for a rude awakening in the Champ.

It's crap refs looking at Var.
It will be crap refs looking at cheap VAR.
It doesn't help.

I'm not resigned to the drop but I do think we have players who need some strong leadership.
If we do turn things around
who does it ?
