Does anybody know of a garage localish to Accrington that could possibly help me with my car problem?
A Ford Grand C Max automatic from 2012 that has done 31,000 miles. Yesterday it flashed on it's screen "Limited transmission function fault".
Today it did the same thing but stopped and would only drive again once I turned it off and waited ten minutes. It went for a couple of miles and came up with the same warning message. It is now parked outside my house.
I tried a local garage who said that I needed a transmission garage in Blackburn. Tried them and they said I needed a Ford garage. The Ford garage in Accrington say they have no mechanics capable of repairing the problem. The Ford garage in Blackburn will look at it but the first appointment is 11th April.
I am desperate to get it fixed as I need the vehicle for my business.
Any suggestions? Help?

If it's the same Blackburn garage that has my mum and dad's car I would stay well clear. 3 months they have had it, claiming parts are hard to get and staff are off with Covid.
Absolute nightmare because it's on the insurance and they're paying for a courtesy car.

See if you can get a garage who's willing to do an oil and filter change on the box, maybe a flush too.
That's the first thing a specialist would do, so you're not losing anything by having someone else do it.
If it doesn't work, then the specialist have one less job to do.

Just watched a repeat of Wheeler Dealers (Porsche Boxter S) where they did just that and it sorted the Tiptronic problem

Paul Emmott at the Bosch Service Centre on Lomeshaye Industrial Estate is very good at things like that. Chances are he weill have seen the problem before, maybe several times! Generally, many main stealers are very expensive and not that good.

Not a mechanic, but could it be your battery on its way out? has a habit of throwing up weird errors. Surely any garage can plug it in and read any possible error codes? Good luck.
