From the Burnley Express today...

"Reports suggest former Burnley manager Owen Coyle is in pole position to be named Queens Park manager...
The Scotsman is off the back of a successful season with Indian Super League side Jamshedpur, where he won the league title. Spiders chief executive Leeann Dempster has identified him as their number one choice."

Good luck to them, I think.

They'll need it.

Don't knock him for having ambition, who knows if he does well at Queens Park he might be head hunted by Thompsons, Scott or even Townley.

He’s been tipped to be getting the job for the last week or so. It’s expected to happen.

Is that Queens Park in Burnley? Local derby v Thompson Park………sounds about right.

It seems a step down on paper for Coyle, but it's worth mentioning Queen's Park have some serious money behind them these days, and their ultimate ambition is to reach the SPL, so in that sense I can see why he'd be attracted.

Coyle is responsible for my favourite ever times watching football. If he can do that at Queens Park then their supporters are in for a great time. I would love to see it.

I think Coyle sunk so low over the years since he left us that I feel he's had a fair punishment. Good luck to him at Queens Park.

No they turned pro in 2019. Which allowed them to bring in some big name signings and win promotion soon after.

Good luck to him, not as angry as most seem to be about him leaving for Bolton. At the time it looked like a step up.
Definitely the most entertaining season I've seen us play that promotion year. Some brilliant cup ties too.

Queens Park used to play at Hampden Park but sold it to the SFA last year for £5,000,000, for lower league Scottish football that is a big budget behind them.

Whilst not having any particular liking for him, I'd have to say that his team's promotion to the PL was the catalyst for our elevated status over the past decade plus.

Think the opposite to Steve Cotterill, they're all still here.

No, they’re ground sharing at Falkirk. But only until “lesser Hampden” is refurbished, then they’ll play there.

Wrong they're ground sharing at Partick Thistle. one of the main reasons why Thistle's pitch is such a mess.

An interesting read with a few familiar names.

It seems Coyle has had his best spell as manager in India since leaving Burnley:

Coyle started it all off by getting us promoted in the first place.

I
One thing I can tell you is the time under Coyle brought me much more excitement and happy times as a Burnley fan than the whole of Dyches tenure.

That it all.

Coyle's had a poor career after Burnley but fair play to him for not being scared to take a risk and for being ambitious in trying to always test himself at the next level.

Never understood players and managers who just play it safe staying with one club and aren't willing to back themselves to step up and succeed at the next level.

Yeah you're right. Much more exciting g scraping into the playoffs at the last minute and having a cup run than winning a title going 23 undefeated or qualifying for the Europa playoffs after finishing 7th and upsetting the big 6 many times in the last few seasons.

The cup runs and that play offs were more exciting and entertaining than anything under Dyche.

Dyche inherited a good underperforming squad aswell. At least Coyle built his own.

He is a better manager in the sense that he sets a team up far better, and manages players better.

Recruitment Dyche is poor he wheel and deal very well. Excitement factor coyle wins hands down. Them cup runs were amazing. Nothing under Dyche has come Close not even the league win.

Some very exciting times under Coyle and he obviously did an excellent job. But the Dyche era is in a different league - bizarre to suggest his achievements e.g. winning the Championship and finishing 7th in the PL don’t come close.

Jensen, Duff, Caldwell, Carlisle, Jordan, Elliott, McCann, Alexander and Blake were all first team regulars under Coyle and he didn't sign any of them. His signings of Paterson, Eagles and Thompson were very good, though. Penny, less so!
