Emails from the club

Looks like the club have finally started using emails to talk to supporters. Had two today, one asking why I missed the last home game and the other about the rearranged fixture v Everton. Well done BFC.
Nice to see More fan engagement after a year of no contacts at all.

Will we get one asking why Cork was dropped in favour of Westwood recently?

I got one from the club about not using my ST for the last match.

I haven't got a ST this year.

So, the club are now randomly emailing fans, asking them why they haven't attended, even when they have?

Seriously?

Me too.

"We've missed you recently. Help up improve Turf Moor.

We've noticed that your season ticket hasn't been used for one or more games so far this season. "

Embarrassing, they have not seen me for 2 years, help up??

Same here. Had to check the sender, thought it was spam. Haven’t missed yet they missed me. Perhaps they’re talking about Boxing Day!

I also received an email from the club today asking why I didn't attend the last home game.

I haven't missed a home league game (where fans have been able to attend) since 2005.

Puzzling!

I've had the same e-mail.

I have missed a lot of games this season, through all the postponements, ce la vie.

Unbelievable.

One stunt they were going to try earlier in the season was to phone season ticket holders who hadn't gone to ask why. Imagine phoning a bloke and his wife answers the phone and she thinks he's been to the match. They must be desperate to try and get people in.

I haven't missed a game either, but still received the email.

I used their response facility to let them know that they had got it all wrong.

If you wish to do the same, select "other" and a text box appears. Use that to tell them.

🤔 wonders if they've tried emailing my Brother who passed away last October 🤔

Although his season ticket has been used around 5 times since (obviously not renewed though as we have transferred my m8 Andy down into his seat 🙂)

I got an email and I haven't even got an email address... ;)

Look, they are trying to communicate, that's gotta be a positive. Some folk are absolutely GAGGING to have a pop at the club, (actually - not the club, the new `owners`) and are obviously delighted to announce any shortcomings. Trouble is, when people have a go at players for under performing, they are accused of scapegoating.... what's this classed as?

I would imagine that would depend upon whether the club were informed of his passing. If they haven't been then they probably have sent one.

Anyway, sorry for your loss.

Thanks for the sorry 🙂...

Yes they have been informed, and it was meant to be light hearted anyway.

Also they would struggle email wise as he was a technophobe who didn't use computers etc so never had an email address ... all his contact with the club was through me 😉

Makes a change from emails from the former finance minister of Botswana, though alas no less annoying ( and the club aren’t offering me $10m dollars either tbh)

I had these emails as well, and thought its less "exciting times" and more "desperate times". It's amateurish at best. You can do better than this BFC.

It would be funny if theres loads of replies as other and "shite hoofball" as the reason, would be an interesting meeting for Alan to chair , can just see the piechart on the whiteboard.

Id just assumed that they they had somehow known I will be missing the Everton game so answered why I wasn't going on for that.

I also took the opportunity to tell then about the concourse and toilets and the pinchpoint out side the longside and poor lighting to say that it all takes away from wanting to spend any more time than necessary at the ground.

Tend to agree with this. It’s a bit amateurish, but at least they’re giving another opportunity for feedback. Some are just looking for anything to have a dig at these days.

I’m all for improvement by the club in regards to contacting supporters but to receive an email stating :
“ We've noticed that your season ticket hasn't been used for one or more games so far this season.” when we’ve attended all but one home game and that was only due to very bad weather is really, really unprofessional.

Whilst this reveals a crap fan base list of details and records from scanned tickets, versus actual attendance, the thought is a positive one and I wish the club every success in their contact process.

I have long believed that folk will attend, when given a jog or even an added incentive.

Like the rest of you, now that huge errors are being revealed, which discredit the current programme, I would hope the club will modify the basis of their initial contact, so future, correct interactions are all positive.

It’s the same people who rushed to the clubs defence when the previous ownership was in place. Now the status quo is being ruffled, some don’t like it.

They’ve obviously got some of the wrong people on the list but I think the fact they’re trying to understand why people haven’t gone to games, even when they’ve paid for them all, is a pretty good idea.

I’ve not missed a home game this season and received the email but I am going to miss one before the end of the season so I just answered as such.

Per someone else above, seems everyone is eager to have a pop at the club no matter what. At least they’re trying to open up the communication channels to try and understand what their customer wants and what their behaviour is.

Most fans have a go at the club when they want the club they love to improve.
The spelling of their media output is often shambolic, but they pay minimum wage for these roles.

The email raised the following questions to me-
How bad is the info these ST card systems provide?
Are they just collecting data again? Any reply had to have your email address on even though they know it and sent their original email there.
