THIS IS NOT A SD OUT - just a football question to the forum.
Neil Critchley ?
Aged 43
Liverpool Under 18 coach 2013 - 2017
Liverpool Under 23 coach 2017 - 2020
Blackpool 2020 to present day
1st season Blackpool promoted a fantastic feat.
2nd season currently Blackpool 13th in championship.
Plays football on floor and must have the lowest wage bill in championship ?? Or bottom 3 surely ?
What do you guys think

He’s certainly done well and if he continues he’ll be sought after.

There should be more taking this kind of route rather than, shall we call it the Chris Waddle / Frank Lampard route into management.
It's not that ex-players can't become great managers, it's that their presence is almost certainly holding back better coaches and better brains who would be better suited but get overlooked because they're not an ex-pro footballer.

Absolutely this, the fact fans buy into the nonsense of ex great players instantly being great managers doesn't help. Klopp, Wenger, Fergie, Jose and Tuchel are some of the very best the PL has seen, I wouldn't say any of them were great players (I judged Sir Alex on his lack of international apps)

He would be great for the club.
I have mentioned him a few times as the club needs a new direction in coaching. Throughout all teams and youth academy.
We needs coaches that will improve players. For too long we have moulded players into a team game, playing 442.
It certainly worked at keeping us up for a while but the football throughout the club has turned into a war of attrition.
It's certainly helped in the past changing styles with managers so you don't go too far over into one style.

On a shoestring budget and a limited squad Paul Warne looks like taking Rotherham up this season. They play good football and must be the fittest team in League One.
