Agreed but we are a team that needs to defend too much. Dwight is at his best when him and Taylor overlap.

He was culpable for both goals today but we asking him to be what he clearly isn't.

We are past that point of saviours. That was January.

Now it's "Lets have a crack at it" time

It’s quite laughable you think Dyche will stick a player not even on the bench into the starting 11! Maybe we’ll save him for next season!?

The thread is about who the poster would select not who will Dyche pick

As close as we can get to the team that beat Brighton and Spurs.

Though I can see the argument for Lowton.

The LW and CM terribly out of form cannot continue IMO

We look so so much better with Wout and Jay up front, and I'm 100% certain Cornet will create more, and cause Everton more headaches than McNeil.

I'll keep Roberts in, as although he hasn't lit up the stage, he is attacking, and the throw could be another weapon v a bang out of form Everton side

Aren't these type of threads completely irrelevant now that we are relegated?

Likewise the rest of the season?

We’re not relegated yet, but I’m sure even the most positive fan would throw in the towel should we lose on Wednesday.

I'd go for largely the one that finished (except not Barnes or Westy) so Jay and Woot up top with Cornet out wide left and Cork partnering Josh.

Looking at the issues we have without a natural replacement for Mee though it might be worth now looking at 3 CBs - Tarks often drifts right on the left side and leaves big gaps.

Maybe the team below might have some success

Pope
Long Collins Tarks
Roberts Taylor
Cork Brownhill
McNeil/Cornet/Lennon
Weghorst Jay

I wonder whether Dyche will drop McNeil and start Cornet?
McNeil hasn't done much and is struggling and Cornet can be a match winner.

The other question is whether to start Jayrod alongside WW?

If so then we could look ike

Pope
Roberts Tarks, Collins, Taylor.
Cork, Brownhill. Westwood
Jayrod, WW, Cornet,

This is the first of a few must wins.

Your point about tarkowski drifting back to he's natural position was the main reason we got beat at Brentford, and left Taylor as the fall guy and ultimately resulted in Collins sending off, imo we should be leaving tarkowski in he's natural position and playing Collins on the left side if we're sticking with a 442 because that would just be one change at the back. Although I agree with your change of formation and playing 3 at the back I think it's far too late to risk. As for the rest unless we have someone to thread a pass to a forward runner and set up that way then it doesn't really matter who plays. Point being dyche has to play forwards as forwards and not defenders. Yes I'm all for defending from the front, but it's a defenders job to defend first "not forwards" if you get my drift. Whatever happens the season starts here, but player's have to want to stay in this league and play with that passion and commitment, and furthermore dyche has to allow that in the way set up starting Wednesday. I personally would have had a 3412 set up way before now with McNeil behind cornet and weghorst, but as I say probably too late to start, and if fit of course, Just finally I doubt we'd have lost at Brentford with Ben mee in the side. Utc's.
