Nathan Collins

Bags of potential and time to improve but not there yet.
On a few occasions he gave the ball to Tarks and then stood still, knowing it was coming back, but with an Everton player between them. As soon as he took the return pass he was closed down and in trouble. Needs to get away and find more space before the pass comes back to him.
Defensively he looks very good and I thank him for his goal.

Think it’s more to do with the lack of options he has infront of him. Immense defender but his forward play will improve I’m
Sure .

Yes but maybe Tarks shoukd not have passed back to him.in that sequence of play. He's going to be a real good un.

Great night for him, his first EPL goal. Made the difference between 1point and 3

Tbf to Collins, he wasn't expecting some of the hospital passes he got from Tarks and I THINK? Tarks had an issue with the position he was playing. IE he would have had to clear it with his left foot and he didn't want to, so he turned back to Collins (more than once).

The club have a great young asset in Collins regardless of which division we are playing in next season.

His athleticism and leadership qualities are outstanding.

There was a good demonstration of that when we were searching for a win towards the end of the match and he drove into the Everton box after playing a great one two.

His goal threat from corners is going to be another of his strengths as that important first goal showed.

I was at the opposite end of the ground for his goal, but it looked like a very composed finish. No attempt to blast it, just a well controlled side foot volley. Very good strike in my book.

Tarks is hopeless on the left, which is why we need Mee back for Sunday. He put Collins in trouble a few times last night but he dealt with it comfortably most of the time.

Only 20 and a player that wants to improve. A great talent, and our future captain when Ben decides to call it a day, (or move on)

Were you at the same match as me? Clearly you didn't see his horrible passes to Collins putting him under unnecessary pressure.

What about his passes that played a big part in our second and third goals? You are pretty much on your own, check the ratings thread, Tarks was one of the best performers last night.

Yes, I was (obviously). I would more put that down to Collins being indecisive. If in doubt, go all the way back to the keeper...

I never said he was bad last night and I'm fully aware of his part in the build up to the winning goal. However, he wasn't MOM by a country mile which was the comment I was responing to.

Everyone played well last night, and we needed them to, but there were better players than Tarky on the pitch last night.

Tarkowski was mom by a distance last night. Is he as good on the left as he is in the right? No. Is he hopeless? Absolutely not.

Clarify the difference between hopeless and bad. Ridiculous comment and excuse.

Tarks pass down the touchline with the outside of his right foot was sublime.
Apart from the brief comedy show with Collins he was immense.

Last night, Tarkowski was here, there and everywhere! Block to the right of him, blocks to the left and blocks when he was stuck in the middle with youth!
(See what I did there?)

They both played immense last night seeing as they didn’t have a right back for 70 odd minutes !

Bit harsh on Roberts that.

Yes not his best game (although significantly better than he was against City) but he played his part.

It was a very composed finish, i hope Tarks was taking notes for the next time he is presented with a goalscoring opportunity at a corner. As great as he's been defensively he's missed a few sitters this season

Luckily this was the case for the equaliser

When Mee comes back I’d slot him straight into midfield to give us some bite.

I don't care if both Ben Mee and Tarks are fit next game. Collins now only gets dropped if injured or suspended.

What a player this kid is going to be. Will play at the highest level in my opinion.

Some of his forays into midfield remind me of Davis mk2 who of course was doing this sort of thing against a much lower quality of opposition.

Considering this wasn’t even supposed to be his breakthrough season, he’s been absolutely immense. If I didn’t know better, I’d think he was in his late twenties.

Going to be a top, top player!

Will be our first £50m+ transfer out.

Already at least as good as Ben White who commanded such a fee.

If Dyche was still in charge, Collins would have been told to hoof it forward not play the ball on the floor.

If we go down, ital to hang onto Collins and offer Mee a new deal to try to get that brilliant back four at that level. We know there has to be a fire sale elsewhere, Pope, Cornet and McNeil the likely departures. So a top defence is vital.

Starting the post with ‘if’.
