Norwich fuel shortage

Just received this and whilst I'm can't vouch for the info, I thought it was worth sharing -
Good morning, Peter,
My name is Pete and I live in Norwich.
I don't know whether you are aware or not , but there is a severe petrol/diesel shortage in this part of the
country . Thanks to protesters at Essex oil terminals !!!
Diesel is particularly difficult to obtain .
Just thought I'd take it upon myself to forewarn you so that , maybe, you can spread the word to the
travelling away fans before tomorrow's game !
Not sure how far in the county the shortage applies, but certainly as far as Kings Lynn ( 45miles away)
& Cambridgeshire .
Yours sincerely,
Pete
PS; I have no affiliation with Norwich City FC

It's happening all over the country tbh
Fuel stations near to me are running out by mid-late afternoon generally.
There are long queues at every station as we speak in my area, because people are filling up to either go away or they're panic buying
I've had to change my work pattern a little to allow for a lack of open fuel stations.
If it was for this you wouldn't know the protests are on, I'm not hearing much about them on the news.

I can confirm that local Facebook groups have added to the hysteria and there is indeed no diesel in Bedfordshire; Cambridgeshire; Norfolk or Suffolk as far as I know. That said, there are local garages that have stock. Been a problem all week down here. I had to fill up in Stoke on the way up on Wednesday afternoon, and should have done the same on the way home

If anyone was going to drive down but are having second thoughts, Accy Clarets still have some seats available.

Yes, been like that for a few days. Got a mate from Accy, delivery driver, who was/Is stranded there for 2 days. He's had to get digs. I would advise all travelling Clarets, especially those in cars, to keep a careful eye on this situation.

Looks like it's a pit stop on the A17 Pete.
The cheapest fuel I have used when visiting (if available) has always has been at the Jet Garage on the right side as you head from Sleaford to Swineshead Bridge.

I’m in Norwich and there have been queues etc. If you fuel on the way you’ll be fine.

I checked the date first, this is NOT an April Fuel gag.

I can confirm this info to be correct, it’s an issue in the midlands too. It’s because of the climate change protestors stopping deliveries. I’m going to rossy road garage soon to fill a full tank. Hoping I’ll have enough fuel to fill up on the motorway on the way home.

The shortages are apparently easing a little bit today as far as I've heard so fingers crossed this gets fully resolved before tomorrow.

Am on Norwich early - don’t ask- there’s huge queues at the few petrol stations with petrol. Diesel seems more plentiful

Take a 5L can down with you and sell it. Pay for ticket and travel.

Just Stop Oil? Yeah, right. These people live in a fantasy world. It's about time they fracked off.

I’ve posted about this in the general info thread. I’m already down here in North Norfolk and struggled to find diesel. Fortunately I’m taking the train in from Sheringham tomorrow.

Diesel trains aren't they!
(I'm sure the railway has adequate supplies)

Probably worth taking a jerry can (full of course

) just in case anyone gets caught out.

Don't know if that was intended as a joke, but it made me chuckle anyway.

had problems here in parts of Devon since the storms when the tankers couldn't dock. Some of that oil comes from Russia...still.

Morrison’s near the ground have diesel but are out of unleaded but they have a delivery expected in the morning.
Diesel seems to be available elsewhere but not unleaded
