9 games 6 victories

May seem far fetched given our present haul but I believe that’s what we should be looking at.
Is it realistic?
Well looking at the fixtures I’d say yes it’s possible.
And if we don’t quite make it 5 might do it.
There are goals in this side now and given a little self belief we can do it.
Starting today.

We won’t need anything like 5 victories, never mind 6.

That’s what we should be aiming for.

We'll get nowhere near that many.

I reckon we’ll aim for 9 wins.

Aside from West Ham & Spurs the other teams are starting to lack any fight in their matches, based on recent results, such as Southampton, Villa & Wolves.
Whether that works to our advantage remains to be seen.

Nine wins is possible but not probable. All a matter of opinion of course but I’m predicting
NOR draw
WHU draw
TOT loss
SOU Win
WOL Draw
WAT Win
AST Draw Loss
NEW Win
37 points will should keep us up but will go to last game.

That’s 8 games - it just got a lot harder

Not sure I could stomach a last day of season decider

4 wins should do it, I'd be staggered if we weren't aiming for 9 wins from 9 games though. Seems unlikely we'll survive, as it has all season but lets see if we can finally not bottle a huge game today.

I think we need 5. Everton have quality players and I would be amazed if they win fewer than 3 of their remaining games. I think this could be one of those seasons where a relatively high number of points is required. Hope I am wrong

He's got 2 Villa results. 8 teams, 9 games

I'm predicting the following points tallies
NOR 1 or 3
WHU 0 or 1
TOT 0
SOU 1 or 3
WOL 0 or 1 or 3
WAT 0 or 1 or 3
AST 0 or 1 and 1 or 3
NEW 0 or 1
On average that gives us 10 or 11 more points
I think it'll be 2-3 shy.

Hopefully, we'll still be in the race at that time. It is in our hands !

Let's just win today first, then take it from there, 4 wins and perhaps 2-3 draws is possible given our fixtures, but we have only won 4 all season.

If we win today then I’ll raise my hopes. Up to now the twists and turns haven’t gone our way and we’ve also bottled the big games (except Everton).

Finally? We didnt bottle the last huge game.

I think if we win today another 3 wins would be enough. However I'll go for the below and hopefully with a few draws we'll do enough.
I think the two games against Villa will be interesting, tough on paper but a lad I work with is a season ticket holder and thinks they are woefully inconsistent, especially since Gerrard took the reigns.
NOR Win
WHU Loss
TOT Loss
SOU Win
WOL Draw
WAT Draw
AST Loss and Win
NEW Draw

Hi Ralph,
I know you're quoting SD and, indeed, virtually all managers but for the players and staff it HAS to be the philosophy. And I'm trying my best to think like that.
As for the teams on the beach. Who knows? Villa have lost their last four whilst Spurs are busting a gut to qualify for the CL. And yet, apparently, Newton Heath played like their season was over yesterday despite surely having the same aim as Spurs.
Virtually impossible to predict results at the end of the season.

Yeah 1 out of god knows how many people have described as ''must win'', we haven't even seen good performances in those games. Again today so far, **** poor as expected.

In answer to your question 6 wins is far fetched, id argue that 3 more wins is also arguably far fetched

Given our record this season it is highly unlikely we will win another 3 games, especially as we are losing at Norwich

I think after today there's a really good chance we might implode

Not a promising start.
Time for a team rethink.

Hasn’t aged well.
Though some have done well with predictions.
No margin for error now.
Victories or bust.
