With us being more proactive signing players from Europe maybe we’re about to see a foreign manager brought in. That would make life interesting.

Does scotland count as foreign nowadays? There's that chap at Queens park who might be tempted to come south?

We need a completely different mind set to bring out the best of our more talented players.

If our last experience of trying to bring in a manager, when struggling to stay up, is anything to go by, this won’t be an easy task. We aren’t the most attractive of propositions at the best of times.
Bring someone in on a short term deal and stay up, then Pace will feel justified in his decision. Bring someone in and we go down anyway, he’s just further limited our finances for next season.
Worrying times (again)

Not sure you can blame the owners for Dyche’s failings of late.
He’s been a huge asset but the club had become stale.

We're a very different club now.
Top class facilities makes a huge difference for starters.
The squad has some good, talented players.
The owners have shown a willing to buy from abroad.

Completely the wrong way of looking at things.
May as well declare "time for bisexual manager" or "time for blonde manager".
Sean Dyche is still the manager and he's got a proven record of success. However, when the times comes to replace him the only criteria should be the ability to do the job.

Should go well, judging by some fans inability to talk about the owners without bringing their nationality and religion into it.

Indeed is worrying how petty and small minded normally rational folks have become.
Yes it’s shock timing
But any other manager would have gone weeks ago.

True to some degree
But I can blame them for this
Only excuse for this is Sack him last Sunday and a New manager was lined up for last Monday
8 crucial games left Pace has said
Ben Mee, U23 Coach, U23 Goalkeeping Coach & an Academy Director
WTF

Well said. Too many of our fans have been conned into believing that we're a team of league 2 players who aren't capable of stringing two passes together.

Timing is strange.
Some see it as a panic measure with the owners fearful of the drop.
It may be.
Equally it may be they feel he has become a deadweight who is bringing the club down
The fact Mee is onboard is interesting

And life is far too short to bother with people like that

Think your response rather highlighted the problem you have with Rowls rather than anything to do with culture wars.

Again, I don't have a problem with Rowls, but he's highjacked your perfectly reasonable thread about going down the foreign manager route to make a point about culture wars (which he has a real issue with, for whatever reason)
You should be more p****d off at him for high jacking it as I think its a good thread and a good discussion as it would be a huge change to how we do things at Burnley
Carry on!

Pep was talking the other day about Bielsa and said that had Bielsa had that team, they would have won even more.
He also said that if he had Bielsa’s Leeds team, they would still be in the Championship.

It's not a culture war thing at all. It's about the stupidity of what, for want of a better phrase, gets called identity politics.
I hate the stupid culture war thing.
Whether a manager is foreign or not should not be on any criteria for who we want to employ. It's not relevant.

It might bring an outsiders view of things, a new culture to the club.
Something perhaps a home grown manager can’t.

I'm genuinely very emotional that Dyche has gone and maybe Lancaster is too.
If the nationality of the next manager is on the criteria for the board making the appointment then we could find ourselves in big trouble. Nationality should not be a factor at all, yet it is what this thread is suggesting.
I'm anti-bad ideas. Appointing people to roles based on anything other than their ability to perform the role is a bad idea. So I'm against it.
It's a bad idea that is somehow proliferating in modern society.

That would come under his ability to manage the club. New ideas are very welcome - IF they're good ideas. You don't have to be "foreign" to have new ideas and it is whether we like the ideas that we would be discriminating on, not the nationality of the applicant.
You also don't want "new ideas" for the sake of having "new ideas". New ideas could be dreadful.
What we want is good ideas and somebody with the requisite traits and abilities to manage a football team.

As a community club to have foreign owners and foreign coaches is very risky, unless they have previously been successful with an English community team (ie Bielsa)

I've "hi-jacked" nothing.
I've pointed out it would be stupid to appoint on anything other than ability to perform the role in question.

Presumably you mean the like of Man U's London and Southern following. Tight knit is how I would describe us as we dont have a massive fan base and the large majority are from the area. I attend most games and see so many other fans that I know.

There's not many Man United's knocking around though, I'd say most clubs are community clubs.
