I was at the Brampton roundabout on the A69 east of Carlisle, driving home from my holiday in Northumberland. I heard it on the Gold Radio 11 o'clock news.

Alarm went off at 6am ready to get up and take our daughter to Epcot (on holiday in Florida). I pick the phone up to check if I had any ‘UK time’ WhatsApp messages and my phone is absolutely bombarded with notifications from friends and family. Awful start to what has proven (so far) to be a lovely day!

I was in Warren Greatrex’s racing yard, on a trip to the Lambourn Open day.

The news was the most unwanted birthday present I’ve ever received.

Text message from a Leeds supporting mate followed by a couple of WhatsApp messages.

I was sat in my car waiting to go out for the day and doing my ITV 7. That turned out to be worse than the news.

I’d been outside with the kids and walked into the kitchen to check my phone charging to see a text off a rovers mate asking who’s getting the job then. Quickly followed by one off a Leeds mate and my heart sank… then ping ping ping messages galore.

Day 5 of covid-19 isolation, still coughing and heavy chest. Saw a YouTube notifcation about "Dyche sacked" deleted cos I just thought it was a "what if..." Then BBC R4 news mentioned it.

I'll have forgotten once my covid-19 is over.

Out for my 2 hour morning walk and around 10.40? as I got close to home a car screeched to a halt next to me and a guy I know wound the window down and asked had I'd heard the news? I honestly had to double check it wasn't April 1st. Shocked doesn't describe it, especially as we'd been discussing exactly this at Norwich last weekend and nobody thought there was even the remotest chance of it.

Half way through an "" all you can eat"" breakfast at a pub in Matlock.
I was considering whether to fold my sausages in the toast slices or perhaps to eat them separately. I'd just asked the charming, generously built young waitress for some extra butter portions when my daughter messaged the news.

Eating my lunch watching the mid-day news on BBC 1 .Phone hasn't stopped ringing since...by no means all Burnley fans .My Burnley mates were nonplussed and most of the opposition were gobsmacked .Pace is clearly desperate .I fear for our future .seventy years a claret and I can't remember feeling so bad .I've seen some terrible Board decisions in my time and one very close run thing but I can't remember feeling like this .How bad are things if he needs to take a gamble like this ?

I saw it first on t'internet, but if I can be literal, I heard it first a couple of hours ago while sitting at a bus stop in Milwaukee and a random American bloke saw the badge on my coat and told me he thought Dyche didn't deserve it.

Walking up Pendle with my lad. The phone rang and my wife told me. At first, I thought she was taking the mick. I had to look on Sky Sports News. Our lad was heartbroken. He's only 13 and Dyche is all he's ever known.

Worst places than Matlock to stock up in a morning.
Down that way earlier this week.
Be there again Monday, but don't think it'll be as friendly. ;)

Just got out of hospital. I'd already found out that all but one supermarket in town had no petrol as I'd missed out on news of that. I thought I must still be on the opiates.

Driving car to Anglesey….. nearly bloody crashed.

Fone went mental from non Burnley supporting mates asking me what we were playing at!

Imagine handing the initiative to your fellow relegation rivals in one simple move….

I think I’m still recovering from the shock. I was sad when Stan left and hugely disappointed when Coyle bailed (though unlike many on here I was far from heartbroken, as by then I thought he’d been found out), that was more how many went with him… this one was the end of an era. I cannot say I ever really took to Sean Dyche after the first heady days, but I thouroughly respected him. Only this season for me has it become apparent that he often put his mental capacity to plan ahead as more important than what he saw unfolding before his eyes. The unbalance of our team had been found out and time and time again he refused to see it. He kept faith with his midfielders, because he realised it was his need for an attacking left that made them nervous about losing the ball in advanced positions; but until recently did nothing to rectify that defensive frailty. I didn’t like SD in the end, but I still respected him. The coming weeks will tell me if that continued respect was due.

Live in the USA, and the news was breaking at about 4.30am my time. Asleep, vaguely aware of my phone buzzing a lot on my nightstand. Woke up properly at 7am with 160 WhatsApp notifications. Thought: ‘have the Russians dropped a nuke?’

I’m not sure it is that important in the general scheme of things. I remember clearly where I was when Diana died and 911. I know where I was when Dyche got fired but it’s only football, not life or death. And don’t forget, in this crazy world of Premier league football his pay off probably amounts to what most of us would earn if we lived for four lifetimes.
