The plan is to appoint an Interim manager until the end of the season, and then appoint a new full time manager in the summer. Some have already been interviewed, with more due in the coming days.

Juicy £1m bonus if he keeps us up and a new longer term contract.

Christ! What’s the point?! We’ll be down to 4/5 games left by then. We’ve even managed to pass up the possible new manager bounce. I really don’t get any of this at all.

The players have had years under Dyche and the methods he used worked for us. If the players up their game those methods are our best chance of survival. The worrying thing for me was that they seemed to lack any fight. If that was down to them downing tools then they now have the chance to do what they do best.

Sounding more and more like the sacking was a result of something that happened since the Norwich game and not because of that defeat.

I paid a quid to subscribe, and it says the reason for the sacking was underperformance, which makes no sense really as surely you’d have had a replacement lined up!

Well, I think it's now becoming clearer that we didn't have anyone lined up when we sacked Dyche. That makes the timing of things all the more puzzling as I assumed they'd waited until Friday because they'd already had advanced talks with a particular candidate who was perhaps bringing his team on board with him. To let Dyche and multiple other staff members go when they did suggests there has been an incident/some sort of falling out during last week.

“The interview process to appoint an interim manager until the end of the season began over the weekend and is expected to continue this week. Burnley were keen to bring in a new manager before the Southampton game on Thursday but that cannot be guaranteed and looks unlikely at this stage.”
-

In my opinion we saw enough in yesterdays performance and through the management of this temporary leadership group to suggest that we shouldn’t rush into the next appointment (even a temporary manager) and instead let the interview process follow its course.

For the next permanent manager I can understand that the league were playing in will greatly influence the attractiveness of the job to the candidates (particularly those around already in the championship) so waiting until the picture is clearer would make sense unless a standout candidate is quickly identified.

So an interim who keeps the job if we stay up?

Or an interim who will then have to reapply whatever division we are in?

I have to admit to thinking that will narrow down the field quite considerably, and I wouldn't want to promise anyone the job if they kept us up

That’s been my take on it since Friday

Why wait until 5 days after, when the prep has been made prior to the next game, if it was only about the results?

Either something major has happened or Pace had asked Dyche what his plans/formation were going to be for yesterdays game was and he’s said “same as last week”

IMO unless there is a standout candidate who is either willing to take it on an interim basis, or would be a suitable long-term replacement, then i would keep Jackson in charge, i saw enough of an improvement yesterday to justify this.

Based on us not appointing anybody in the 3 days since Dyche was sacked which included a match day and a couple of bank holidays??

Give me strength

Still no word from Dyche or any of the staff who have been fired.

As for the interim not sure that the point is for what will be 6 games if they aren’t going to appoint by Thursday.

Yes! We had a game yesterday and it wouldn't have been out of the realms of possibility that we'd had a new manager lined up for it. We didn't and that's okay. But this report is suggesting that we may not even have somebody in for the Southampton game. That's surprised me a little. If you're not surprised then more power to you I guess.

We'll be outside the relegation zone heading into the new mans first game, hopefully whoever it is brings that magic new manager bounce with him..

As others have said clearly something has gone on for the whole management team to have gone.
One rumour is they were planning to go to a other club and take OOC players with them.
Therefore a conflict of interest to continue in their roles, especially when we have to play the team I believe they will end up.
Watford! They are heading down, Hodgson leaving and Dyche the perfect man to get them back up.
If and it's an IF something like this is true then the board had really no choice.

By the time a new man is picked, they might aswell just stick with the current team. Totally pointless appointing someone with 6 games to go.

Great. What a complete farce this season has been. It’ll be 5/6 games left if we’re lucky by the time this mystery interim is appointed, if it happens at all.

All part of the master plan I’m sure though. Clueless.

Get a temporary manager to oversee things until the end of the season makes sense.

So we’ll need a temporary assistant too, a head coach, a goalkeeping coach, physio, basically we need to replace the whole setup for just 7 games…

Who wants a temporary contract? Everton tried this with Big Sam, but he stood he ground and got a three year deal.

Alan Pace doesn’t know what he is doing.

Because who is going to accept a job for a few games? Perhaps the carrot of the job on a permanent basis if we stay up but it narrows the field somewhat.

The club statement cited performances but more significantly that changing manager would give the best chance of avoiding relegation. I don't see how that tallies with then starting the process to find a new manager, who would then miss two of the eight remaining games (he could well be appointed before the Southampton game but will have little input to the preparations so I wouldn't consider him to be 'in charge').

That could be a carrot to tempt any new interim boss with. To me, Dyche didn’t align with the philosophy of getting young players in to sell on for profit any longer as that market used to be in the British leagues below, and it is no longer and Dyche couldn’t adapt, so surely Pace may as well appoint a man who fits with the new market we will be shopping in on a permanent basis regardless of the division?

Who doesn't? It's a great opportunity for someone to come in for 6/7 games, keep us in the league and earn an enormous juicy bonus for doing so and their stock increases tenfold, plus they'll likely earn a longer term deal here on more pay.

The club wouldn’t offer & not many pedigree managers would accept them uncertain terms anyway, so it’s fair to say nothing will be happening until next season is determined anyway with regard to long term appointments. You are basically stating what will be happening anyway if you following the logical course of action.
