I’d planned to go but have a dental appointment which makes it just about impossible to get there in time.

Arrived at Ground to be refused entry along with about another 6-10 clarets.
Apparently all Utd U18s are played behind closed doors.

The club's Twitter account really bugs me. I guess they are consistent but sometimes they'll say things like
" Still ten to go 0-1"
And instantly I haven't a clue if we are winning or losing. This is mainly when I've come into it cold.
They just need to change it to WHA 0- 1 BUR and that would solve any confusion

Is he the winger from Galway Utd?
No need to reply I’ve found him, FB from Portadown.

Challenge is, if you know how to post on Twitter you probably don't know about football teams and home and away games.

I think its Dara Costelloe you're thinking of Trevor...doing rather well for the 23s

Costelloe seems to be getting a lot of mentions recently , is he the one who’s got pace to burn?

A great result for our youngsters, and it's not proving a good night for Utd in general is it.

The guys were fantastic in every position and can really knock it around well. Special mention for the defence in the 2nd half who were all outstanding. Top save in time added on from our keeper.

Brilliant to hear, thanks.
Academy teams seem to be doing very well at the moment. Some credit due to Paul Jenkins, perhaps?

As from above on thread, I'd have been there but for the dental appointment.
But, if their games are behind closed doors, you have to wonder why our club didn't bother to let anyone know.

CT - on arrival there was the ground safety officer ( Keith) who had 3 sheets of paper with names on - which had been supplied in advance by both clubs for parents etc. The Utd officials were just downright rude and said you can’t come in it’s behind closed doors. One of the Burnley fans then showed him the MUFC website that said free entry. The guy just dismissed it and said it’s wrong so you are not coming in. Jack Tebbutt who works for Burnley said to the guys look we know some of our invites on the list are not attending so can we substitute them with the Burnley fans outside the ground. So we got in but only by having our names appended to the lists. The Utd guy was blaming Burnley for not advertising it was ‘ behind closed doors’
So glad we won ….

Fantastic result for our lads. We all know the youth system must play an integral part of a successful future. And we all know that sadly success at U18 level doesn't guarantee success at professional level. However, we've come a hell of a long way in a relatively short period of time.

Again, the same 3 lads that have have been released by Burnley played again tonight and again gave it their all v Man United as they did against Rovers last week. Now that's the guts and resilience needed nowadays ...well done indeed.

We know one is Will Couch but given that there has been no news from the club about the academy retained list, can you tell us who the other two are. They must be two from Keelan Williams, Benn Ward, Dane McCullough, Will Hugill, Ruauri Behan, Joe Smyth-Ferguson and Kade Ratchford.
Also, I wonder how many, if any, of Jacson Coppack, Sean Etaluku, Jacob Hamilton, Jack Leckie, Tremaine Eastmond and George Walters have been released.

Jacson Coppack hasn't played since January. He stepped up to the u23 in place of Ben Woods and played well but not seen him since.

ClaretTony...Couch, Smythe- Ferguson and Behan were the 3 lads tonight who also featured in the Rovers win. Coppack and Hamilton have scholarship extension, others you mentioned are also released.

Jack Leckie has. Been offered trials at Hull, Stoke, Barnsley and Stoke.

I only know due to me talking to him last week when he was having a big dilemma as to which offer to take. Good that he had a choice of clubs who were interested in taking him but a big decision for a young lad to take.

No one was interested in this sort of information Tony. It’s better now though, now that we are kept up to date with the womens team and boys playing computer games and so on.
