Chants for Southampton match?

First home match without Sean and I’m wondering if the fans are planning to show that they weren’t happy with his sacking. :(

I’m guessing it depends how we play. If we go a couple of goals down are we likely to hear “You don’t know what you’re doing!” or similar aimed at the owners?

Anyone going to be singing “Ben Mee’s claret and blue army!” or is it still “Sean Dyche’s claret….” ?

What do you think?

If people sing songs about Sean Dyche, I fear that I may cringe myself to death!

I can't say I heard any songs about Dyche at West Ham on Sunday through the stream.

There were chants of Sean Dyche claret n blue army at times from a small section of supporters that were not taken up by the majority. To be honest it was a very small and subdued following with many still in semi shock at Friday's events

Given it’s Michael Jackson in charge, perhaps something from his song catalog?

Hope the match is a Thriller!

Dyche will more than likely be striding out of the tunnel at Turf Moor at some point next season. That will be the time to show some appreciation.
Tomorrow it’s important to get behind the team.

The players really looked up for it on Sunday and are obviously playing for Michael and Ben. The last thing they need is fans chanting about a former Manager, regardless of how good he was for us (and he was the best in my lifetime). You cannot change the past, Sean has gone, but you can influence the future, which for the short term at least is Michael Jackson and Ben Mee. Give them what they deserve, 100% of our backing for 90 minutes.

Lot depends on Everton result tonight. I expect them to win and go 6 points clear on level games. If that happens then I fear the atmosphere tomorrow will be a bit flat. If however Leicester can do us a favour then it could be a classic Turf Moor night. UTC

Minute 9 through 10 would be very acceptable applause time.

The man deserves our huge thanks. Sean Dyche Claret and Blue Army at that time too, would be fitting.

I'm sorry but singing anything tomorrow night about Dyche would be a ridiculous distraction. He is no longer our manager, all our/your vocal support should be for the team.

Ben Mee's Claret and Blue army would be my preference. Leader on and off the field

I can't remember the exact song and haven't heard it in years (probably for good reason when someone reminds me of how it went) but Im pretty sure we had a song that covered off loads of different names - it may have been to a hymn type song?

One before kick off and then one more. But the most subdued I’ve seen a Burnley away crowd for a long time.

Nice show of appreciation for SD I thought.

Gratitude and respect without it coming across as a protest or negative towards the owners.

What was "playing football the Sean Dyche way" all about? Especially when we were very obviously not playing football "the Sean Dyche way."

The players were good. Lots of "best performances." The football was on the ground, played to feet. I don't recall a single high ball into the box. I don't recall a single Connor Roberts long throw.

Played good football. Won. Unfortunately, that's not been Sean Dyche's way this season and a little longer.

It was fully appropriate to sing the "23, 23 undefeated" chant though, which includes that line, in tribute to SD's reign.

Hopefully can leave the Sean Dyche chants behind now. Fair enough singing them late on when 2-0 up but let’s leave it there and move on.

I think you’ve missed or chosen to miss the point there, Paul.

It was nothing to do with how we played tonight (which was superb) and all to do with paying respect to what Dyche has given us.

The timing of those songs was perfect - we’d secured the win and backed the team throughout. Singing the Dyche songs at the beginning would have sent a different message that wouldn’t have helped the situation at all.

Felt like Burnley fans did it the right way this evening. Driving down I heard the radio commentators saying that some Burnley fans groups had suggested there would be something on 10mins to celebrate Dyche - that didn't materialise which personally I'm happy about.

The last 10 minutes felt genuine and a nice show appreciation. Also the 23 undefeated took our group right back to the Charlton match and the scenes around London Bridge after the game.

I was more concerned about the 'oles' that started at about 80 minutes.

Does my head in when they start up.

Suppose it makes a pleasant change to even be in the position to ole at all, this season.
