Wolves Game

With 10 minutes to go and the score 1-1, would you take a draw knowing it would take us out of the bottom three before Everton play Liverpool or would you like a massive push to find a winner? I feel if we can get out of the bottom 3 and more importantly put Everton in it the psychological blow that would cause to Everton could keep them there, we have a team of fighters who will scrap, Everton don't.

The fact that Everton have equalised or scored the winner after 90 mins would suggest otherwise. I'm more concerned about us winning than other teams losing.

I think i heard that they've scored 5 times from 90mins onwards this season

We’re 5 points behind Leeds and they have a difficult game against Palace on Monday. They’re a more suitable target to aim at than Everton right now.

We need to win games. We have drawn far too many this season and holding on to what we have has been the problem. Now isn’t the time to be playing for draws when at home.

We're only 1 point behind them.
Leeds will survive.

Just read that Max Kilman and Ruben Neves have been ruled out for the game. Their two best players this season. Also no Daniel Podence. Boost for us.

We really need the three but at that stage of the game I’d take 1-1 and a point. We also need that long awaited luck when they talk about “ it evens itself out over the season”. We’ll it’s definitely our turn to receive it.

I think to stay up we really do need to get as many points on the board as soon as possible

We have to get scoreboard pressure onto sides that have never experienced it, and they will crumble

In seasons past we have been capable of winning 3 on the bounce, if we get wins against Wolves and Watford with the tough fixtures Everton and Leeds have the pressure will be on them

Without Neves & Kilman we’ve certainly got a better chance.
Get the Turf rocking again on Sunday 👍

I have to say, I am a little apprehensive about this game. Players haven't had much rest (and it's not like we have the biggest squad) and Wolves have had a good couple of weeks. But in answer to your question, I'd push for the winner. We need to win games to get out of this. I kind of like the simplicity of it.

Good question. There are times this season where I have said I’ll settle for a point where we have been in winning situations only to lose. Another set of performances like Thursday night will be just fine!

I'm surprisingly positive about this game....I know....it's Burnley, so being so positive is always dangerous!

I think;
- momentum is with us
- Wolves don't have that much to play for...OK they could make Europe but it's more an outside chance imho
- Wolves missing big players
- Burnley playing with a smile on and with some freedom
- Wolves' long break I'm not sure will help them....may be fresher but not as match sharp
- for once we have a real opportunity to climb out of the bottom 3 and stay out of it and I expect the lads to step up and go for it

No brainer, at 1-1 you'd go for the 3 points and with the crowd behind I'd expect to get them. (Think Everton at home a couple of weeks ago)

Win against Wolves and we'll be out of the bottom 3, and that will really ramp the pressure up on Everton, and to a lesser extent Leeds.

We do appear to have momentum right now, and that alone is vital at this stage of the season, and I for one have a good felling that if we can climb out of the bottom 3 we will stay out, our problem this season has been getting out when the chances arise. and on Sunday we simply have to grasp the mantle and go for the win.

To add to the positivity we have a good recent record against Wolves, and the fact they are missing some key players can't do us any harm, and yes the fans can play a role on Sunday as well.

Given our away form we need to be winning our three remaining home games.

No, I definitely would not take a draw. We have to look at winning the home games.

I do think that Leeds will get the points needed, somewhere, though their run in isn’t the greatest.

If results went as we hope for over this round, being only two points behind Leeds certainly brings them back into the mix.

A point will see us get out of the bottom three in all likelihood this weekend.

Whilst not ideal, it would be better than nothing and could make all the difference come the end of the season.

Draw and we go to Watford thinking ‘we absolutely have to win’, as our games after that start getting a bit tricker with Villa twice.

With the departure of Sean Dyche, I feel much more confident. After the 3 points against Southampton and the way we played, I am convinced we can get 3 more points. We can do it!!!

Absolutely no reason we can't get 3 points against Wolves. We have to get at them from the off.

Just be 3-0 up at 80 min and no choice required. Easy!!

We need to follow up Southampton, without a doubt. Almost every season a team falls into the relegation zone from relative safety and if Aston Villa lose against Leicester they cannot be ruled out given their recent run, Brighton have pulled out of their nose dive; but Villa are really struggling to pick up points recently. Not saying they are favourites (they face Norwich next), by any means for the drop; but another couple of dodgy results will see them right in it. As always everything relies on Burnley finding consistency for the first time this season - if we do I think we should be still capable of finishing above Villa… but that means a winning streak not an ‘undefeated’ run… go for the jugular every game Burnley, and lets see.

One of our problems this season is that we've never "gone on a run". We have had a couple of good results on the bounce occasionally, but nothing you'd remotely call a run. The previous 2 games have again laid the foundation for a desperately needed run and this time we need to make it happen as once again 2 good performances and results in isolation are never going to be enough. In answer to the OP I'd almost always take the point at at 1-1 with 10 minutes to go, but because of our position, tomorrow I don't believe I would. Play on and try for the win and (hopefully) see how Everton respond to being in the bottom 3 and 2 points adrift.

Be good to get Leeds involved and even Villa who we play twice . If either gets beat today and we win ,the pressure very much ramps up .

Am I right that if we beat Wolves and Watford we'll be 5 points ahead of Everton before their game at home to Chelsea? and we'll have a much better goal difference, assuming they get beat Tomorrow at Anfield.

Yes we would, but that's a lot of if's, however we play ahead of Everton the next 2 weekends, so if we pick up results the onus will switch to them to respond.

I thought their game in hand was at Watford, but your point is still a valid one.

It's likely Everton won't get any points from their next 3 games. We have to build up a cushion because their fixtures get easier with Palace, Watford and Brentford. I'd say its likely we lose at Villa and Spurs too. I think we need Villa to pick up some points and hopefully they bring out their sandals asap.

I'm not an expert, but if we win tomorrow, and Everton lose, then I'd put our chances of survival at 98%.

If we get a draw and Everton lose, then it'd be more like 75%.

If we match each others results then I'd keep it at 50%.

I sing Villa see themselves as being part of the scrap. So chances are they'll be on the beach anyway.

Not sure how you work out those odds given if we win Tomorrow and they lose, we'll be 2 points ahead but they have a game in hand away at Watford.

I haven't worked the odds out.
If Everton end up in the bottom three after a Burnley win and a tanking at Anfield then they won't recover.

We must go for the win. Yes, we will be out of the relegation zone with a draw, but that means Everton only needs a draw to get back above us. With a win they will need a win also, even 2 draws will not be enough for them due to our superior goal difference.

Wolves should be winnable based on our results against them over the last few years.

Given our respective positions in the table it's a tough one. I think we can win it, if we set out to nab a goal early then grind it out, but I might take a draw. Though at the same time we need the win.

Ask me after the match. Feels like one where opinions on the result might depend on the performance.

We’ve got to go for the win, but draws are still very valuable given our current position so it really wouldn’t be a bad result. Getting out of the bottom three, even briefly, would be nice.

Two big psychological hurdles passed

True that. A win would really put safety within realistic sight. Those points looked hugely unachievable a few weeks back but we’ve hit some good form, despite a shocking showing at Norwich.

No,I mean as in- if we play badly but get a draw I'm more likely to view it as a good result than if we play well but still only draw, which might feel as a missed opportunity.

Obviously the ideal is play well and win, and I think we have the capability to and have to go for the win. But if we're off the pace and still draw, that's probably a good point
