Plaudits for lots of staff flying around here tonight, and rightly so.
So here's one for JT.
What a fantastic professional he is. Playing like his career depends on it.
Well done , Tarks, and all the very best to you in the future.

Fully agree.

Running out of superlatives for him. What a top, top professional.

If he is going to leave I really hope he gets the move he needs to get in the England team. He deserves it on this seasons form.

He, for me has been absolutely outstanding. You couldn’t blame him if he had become distracted or less committed as he is off at the end of the season but he hasn’t. The ultimate professional!

Bar those couple of blip games over Christmas he has been outstanding all season - probably our most consistent player

Yet he went on strike to force a move to join us.
Perhaps getting older changes your prospective on life.

I am still hoping that a change of regime, retention of our place at the top table and renewed vigour throughout the team can tempt him into staying.

In a World Cup year, he'll want to go to a team that gives him the best chance of going. He won't be staying.

Looking at his performances, attitude and the lack of specific info re potential future clubs, I'd say there's a good chance of him plumping for another contract here if we were to stay up.

I'd presume the club are keen to keep him, given there'll be no fee if he goes.

It will have been lined up for 12-24 months, I’ve seen it first hand, it’s a different world with agents

Alternatively he may feel sitting on a top six club's bench may be the last way to achieve this.

Not when you’ll get another club offering him a lot more money. I think West Ham will be a good bet. Outstanding for us again today.

He's getting overlooked in favour of Tyrone Mings. He might just want to chance his arm, and if it doesn't get him a call up, he's doubled his pay. Win/win for him.

It could have been his circumstances at the time that influenced his actions. Whatever his reason(s) there is no questioning his commitment to the cause.

He’s a Rolls Royce of a player for us - I’ll be gutted to see him leave and just hope that he gets the right move and the opportunities, wherever that may be.

He will have plenty of suitors with deeper pockets than we have. He's a super player. A great Dyche buy.

I mouthed that out loud today, too.
Different style if play. New management. Fresh start.

He is certainly playing his heart out and marshaling and covering, throughout the games.

A pleasure to watch him play.

Quite possibly.

If not though and we stay up I'd be offering him 8/10m signing on fee to try and keep him.

He’d suit West Ham and Moyes to a t. Wouldn’t surprise me if they come in for him again. They play a mid block system which has even allowed the likes of Dawson to look very good (and I think Tarks is better than him overall). But as mentioned, he’s been so, so good for us over the years.

No, it wasn’t. It was a simple recognition that he isn’t the future, and that Collins is.

As it turns out, with Mee’s injury, things have worked out as they have, but people suggesting he was dropped wasn’t anything to do with whether he would give his all, it was down to bedding Collins into the team. It was a good shout. He wants out, and that’s fair enough, but because he didn’t commit, swapping him out with Collins was a decent shout.

Tarks has been superb, and no mistake. A proper professional. Good luck to him I say, but if Mee had stayed fit, I’d want Collins to be getting game time alongside him.

Really has been top notch and a credit to himself, but I can’t help feeling that he / we will look back in years to come and decide that these were the best days of his career. Very rare do those moving on thrive elsewhere, Ings and Trippier being two. Heaton and Keane (very unpopular with Everton fans) being examples of what I mean.

I see why he would want to try though, I just think he will regret it later. Maybe not publicly.

Yep:

'For me Collins plays in our next match, whenever that eventually takes place, as countless posters have mentioned at least he'll be here next season, whereas Tarkowski doesn't give a monkey's as he's too busy lining up his next move.'

'Tarkowski, sell him, overrated and costing us all season long.

We are letting these average players rot this club and squad, non performances and contract situations. Why are we relying on commitment from players who aren't committed?'

My meaning was that he’s in the past. He’s not committed to the club or the team and he’s leaving either this month, or more likely in the summer.

And I stand by that. From the moment Collins was brought in to the club, and deemed fit enough, he would’ve started. Nowt to do with Tarks ability, and everything to do with his lack of commitment to the club and our future.

Correlate all you want. Tarks wouldn’t start for the reason I stated. He was done, he wants/wanted out, I wouldn’t give him the “window” to sell himself. He would’ve been in the reserves as soon as Collins showed up.

Ability is there for all to see, he’s been excellent, but he still would have been benched because we would never have known how he was going to react to it being his last season. You have hindsigt now, but we just didn’t know.
