Reference to the 5 home wins on the trot in 2016/17.
What we would give for a repeat.

Re: REPORT: Out of the bottom three after beating Wolves
Excellent report, CT. Absolutely spot on. With Wolves not having played for over a fortnight I was concerned that their 'fresher legs' would be a problem for us along with our nervousness early in the game. It seemed to pan out that way, too. I was imploring us just to stay in the game when Wolves were having so much more of the ball and thankfully we did. Second half, I thought was more even and ultimately I felt Wolves ran out of ideas to break us down. Cork, and Brownhill were excellent and it became a typical Dychesque performance. Bit of a sore throat and sore hands after the game. That's more like it.

"Ashley Barnes was due to come on and still did, for a significant twentieth appearance of the season"
contract option?

'I’m not sure where the stand roofs are now but they lifted as the fans celebrated the goal'
One way to get that ball on the roof back!
.......
'Players hugged, Matt Lowton jumped on Vydra for a piggy back'
No wonder he gets hernias!

The thing that stood out for me, on watching MOTD2, was that the bench were as excited as the team on the pitch.
Players such as Bardsley, visibly overjoyed.
This is akin to a group of mates playing for their pub!
They are all in in together and for each other.
Credit to our former manager, for such an assembly of men.
Credit to the current, temporary set up, for their re-ignition success.

I’ve always referred to the plan of bringing good characters in. I spoke to a first team player just over two years ago and he said it was by far the best dressing room he’d ever been in. That can only help us now.IanMcL wrote: ↑Mon Apr 25, 2022 2:36 pmThe thing that stood out for me, on watching MOTD2, was that the bench were as excited as the team on the pitch.

Yes, I noticed Bards going mad, was great to see.
Looks like a happy camp.

With the first one that was ruled out, Vydra was way off anyway but did it go in off Vydra or Coady?

A vital 3 points on a nervy afternoon, but as rightly alluded to CT there's plenty of work still to do, however it doesn't half feel good to finally be out of the bottom 3.
And our recent vastly improved home form has to give us every hope, if we can maintain that, and nick a couple of results away, that might well be enough.

Fantastic CT, and good seeing you looking so well yesterday. I had goose bumps reading that and i have to admit I am a little fragile, after celebrating after the match. I have done nothing but look at the league table and the fixtures of Everton and Leeds, but the realised we play Villa twice who are 6 points in front of us. Agreed keeping our feet on the ground but wow finding it hard

I'm really hoping Villa annihilate Norwich who they play next, then the pressure's off them before they play us.
Palace slapping DL tonight would help too.

Re: REPORT: Out of the bottom three after beating Wolves
Tonight is such a big game for us. I’m as nervous for it as our game yesterday. If palace win, then it’s a 3 way shootout because Leeds’ next 3 are against the big 6. There is a chance that we could be above them going into their late kick off against city on Saturday night and psychologically it could have an affect.ElectroClaret wrote: ↑Mon Apr 25, 2022 3:32 pmI'm really hoping Villa annihilate Norwich who they play next, then the pressure's off them before they play us.

Re: REPORT: Out of the bottom three after beating Wolves
They highlighted the goal on MOTD2. They said if it was scored by city or Liverpool it would have been talked about as pure football. In terms of passing it was one of the best goals I can remember on the turf.

I thought Barnes cameo was the most effective he has looked for us in over a year, did well.

It was somewhat reminiscent of our first goal by Ashley Barnes v Wigan in our first promotion season. Not as spectacular granted.Cirrus_Minor wrote: ↑Mon Apr 25, 2022 5:19 pmThey highlighted the goal on MOTD2.
