Fingers crossed as well.

Thought 37pts for survival for a while now, and am sticking to it, though at this rate I'll be surprised if we don't hit 40. Never seen a turnaround quite like this. Can't believe it's actually happening to us!

Just need to keep putting points on the board, it's worth remembering we were less than 10 minutes away from defeat today, and then this forum would be a very different place tonight, as SD once said fine margins indeed.

Villa at home another huge game. Wouldn't fancy going to spurs and villa under pressure. It's a big ask but on paper our easiest remaining game.

If, and a sort of biggish if, Everton were to lose tomorrow we'd go 8 points clear with a win against Villa.
They ain't making that up if it happens.

2 more and it should be ... but this season has a lot more twists and turns to go I reckon ... has all the makings of a classic relegation battle between 3 or more teams ... at least now we are in the box seat for a change and its in our own hands at last

I think we may need more than one more win.
2 wins would more than likely almost certainly do it
but possibly one win and one draw might suffice.
4 more points would take us to 38 which means Everton would need
9 more points and turn round the goal difference.
Whatever we're in with a fighting chance.

Think we need 2 more wins and 40 points this season. Still a long way to go.

I think we need five more points which would leave Everton needing four wins from six.

Everton have an extra game and also play Watford away.
I'm going to assume they win that until proven otherwise so still only two points in it.

We need to match Leeds results and they have 4 tough games. Do that and we stay up whatever Everton do. Bring it on

Except if Everton win the two games they currently have in hand. They’d be above us, so no.

Not happy at all about Everton playing Chelsea today only 60hours after their Thursday night game at OT. Could easily have been played Monday night. If Chelsea play like they did on Thursday they win but the Lampard connection worries me.
For us it’s still one game at a time.

I agree , I think we need a minimum of 40 points, maybe more.
I agree with Michael Jackson’s comments about working on the next game ahead only and getting the players to believe in themselves again.

As some have already said, there’s still room for lots of twists and turns. That said, four points is probably enough, six will guarantee it. I just hope that we don’t need any of those points from the final game.

One more win will be enough... unless it isn't.
We just won three in a row with our u-23s manager, who's to say Everton can't go on a winning run too. Weird things happen at this time of the season.

If the stories doing the rounds are correct many of the Chelsea squad didn't see eye to eye with Lampard, so I doubt they'll be rolling over today, plus they need the points to wrap up 3rd spot, so I'd hope they'd put in a shift today despite playing on Thursday, and let's be honest It's not like TT doesn't have a large squad to rotate is it.
Regarding the OP I doubt one more more win in itself will prove enough, another 4-5 points will surely suffice though, and that win yesterday has given us a great chance now of yet again defying the odds.

We need Everton to lose today to complete the perfect weekend for us, but even if they do, they still have a game in hand so they've plenty to play for. The game in hand is I think against Spurs, so it ain't an easy one, but it's still yet another chance for them to make up ground. I think we'll need 38 points minimum and maybe more this year.

Agree we need Everton to lose today, if they do they'll be 5 adrift with 5 to play, now that's not impossible for them to claw back, but normally the ruke of thumb is when it gets to a point a game to pull back that's tough, especially with so few games remaining, really Everton have little margin for error now, and although they have the 2 games in hand there' will be almighty pressure on those games now starting today.
This is why it was vital we took advantage of playing 1st this weekend, because even if Everton pull out a result today they will still be no better off than they were 2 days ago.

We look capable of getting 5 pts from our remaining fixtures and I think Everton will just scrape through on 38pts. The side who should be worried is Leeds who I can only see securing a maximum of 4pts from there remaining fixtures
All 3 teams will finish on 38pts with Leeds relegated due to inferior goal average

Their game in hand is Watford away and they have some very winnable games left, especially at home. It's not over by a long way yet.

Not sure just one win will suffice. Our superior goal difference is worth an extra point though. Let’s just look at Villa on Saturday for now and see where we are after that.

Our equation is simple - match the results of Leeds. Their next 2 are Chelsea and Arsenal. It’s conceivable that they get 0 points from them 2 games, meaning that our next two we could still be above them whatever our results. Of course, if we was to get 3 or 4 points from our next two games and Leeds get 0, they would be going into their games against Brighton and Brentford needing to win both games to survive. Brighton have the 4th or 5th best away record in the league, and Brentford away is no easy task.

Aim higher for 40 points and Southampton. They only have 3 games left, Brentford a, Liverpool h, Leicester a. They might not pick up any more points and already have a worse goal difference.

Think it could be Leeds if you look at it on paper?
Cant see a lot v Chelsea or Arsenal hopefully
Brighton have taken 28 points away from home 4th best in the league it will not be an easy game at all
Leaves Brentford as most likely points but they have also been on a decent run of form
Then take the goal difference which is really not gunna change enough
