Tarks to Everton?

Being reported that Everton are interested in Tarks
should they stay up.
Call my cynical but it seems like a desperate attempt to try to unsettle him and Burnley.

If they stay up they should definitely try to sign him. Problem for them is they are going down.

They can try as much as they like to unsettle him, but he's completely focused on the task in hand from what I've seen.
He can also do better than Everton for his next club.

Hopefully he has better offers on the table

Perhaps he could be as loved and adored at Goodson as the last Burnley centre half they signed.

I would imagine Tarks knows exactly where he is going at this stage his career.

I think Everton have bigger things to worry about.

Imagine Tarks is going to have better options than Everton, particularly with the state they're currently in.
There's been something wrong with that club for a while now.

A club like Leicester, Aston Villa, or West Ham will be the next destination for Tarkowski I'd imagine. Not quite the top clubs, but certainly bigger clubs than us who will be targeting those places just below the top 4, possibly looking to break into it in the next few years.
The only draw I could see for Everton, assuming they even stay up of course, is that they're closer to home for him. I've no idea if that's even a consideration for Tarks anymore, but if it is it may limit his next move.

Just seen on twitter he had family problems on Friday night but still played for us yesterday.
Top man who will be missed.

If Tarks leaves, or when he leaves, he deserves a better move than Everton.
Newcastle, West Ham would be a much better choice. Not the North West, but clubs that would love him and his attitude.

Everton is a poor place to flourish as a player. It seems to drain confidence and erodes talent. ( Michael Keane) If we lose James I hope it will be to a club that will appreciate what he can bring to a football match at the highest level

To be honest I think he is better than that Man U , West Ham or Tottenham. Would be a more likely new home . Would have loved to have kept him .

Can't see him wanting to go play championship football. will end up at a top half team

Its not beyond the realms of possibility that the reason he wouldnt sign a deal was Dyche.
We have to open to the prospect that he could now sign a new deal.
I dont pin my hopes on this, all we can do is wait and see.

It is mate
He's already said that the reason he's leaving won't be financial, as he can get a great deal here, but its about what he wants to do as a player
I just don't see those ambitions being met at Burnley, and he is good enough to play for a top six/seven side I think

I was trying my best to not assume that Tarky was going to leave for a wage, whilst accepting that 4m for the service we’ve had was money well spent.
It also meant that Brentford not getting any sell on was a bonus.
If its not a money based decision,
Surely the prospect of new owners, new players and a new manager re-opens Burnley as a viable prospect.
Either way. He’s done brilliant for us. His commitment in the run in has been there for all to see and whilst its a minor bugbear of mine (seeing players leave for free) I cannot begrudge him one bit if his future lies away from Burnley.
The only other sensible option is he leaves us for a crack at european competition.

One thing is for sure…. If he goes to Everton, within 12 months they will have ruined him.

Clearly a lazy journalist’s desperate attempt to upset the apple cart.
Looking at the article I don’t see the relevance of Michael Keane’s picture (without a caption). It stinks of a player being hung out to dry for the poor performances - much like Maguire at ManU.

I would imagine clubs of a higher calibre than Everton would be interested. ManU, Tottenham, Newcastle, West Ham, even Arsenal or Chelsea spring to mind.

We know Tarks is a top class defender playing in.our team, which is mainly on the defensive in this league. I wonder how he would look and play in a team thats able to attack a lot more.

Why not a top German, French, or Dutch club, or even Scandinavian and get into Champion's League football?

I hope Tarks get the move he deserves, great servant to the club, and even with his family issues he's still giving 100%, can't ask any more than that can we, and it's worth recalling he only cost us £3.5m, which in today's market is buttons.
He will be missed, but at least we've got a replacement already in the building with Collins.
