Name the ex-Claret

Any ideas who this is? He has a connection with the bloke on the left of the pic.

I'm not sure Stevo would be impressed, he's only a year older than me. This ex-Claret, no longer with us, was considerably older. I never saw him play.

Deffo Les Shannon, still a good head of hair on that photo but it was bright red when he played for us.
After he left Burnley he went on to have a sucessful career in management for 18 years most notably managing Greek clubs.Saw him play a few times in probably his last season with us.
A fine half back in his day .

It was Les Shannon and the connection is that he scored our goal on the day I was born.
The photograph was taken on 30th April 2006. He passed away in December 2007 at the age of 81.

It’s uncanny that Beast is wearing the same shirt and has the same background colour in both pictures….
