Thought fans were good today in the first half. Energy was sapped out when Tarkowski went off

Good atmosphere until we went 0-3 down and the players seemed to give up.

Unfortunately been unable to attend today. Obviously seen the scoreline but any news on Vydra, what's he done and also what's Tarkys injury?

Good atmosphere first half . We were unlucky to be 2 down and at least offered something. 2nd half we were dreadful and so was the atmosphere unsurprisingly.

Vyds is knee apparently
Tarky went down just after the start of second half
Looked to be thigh/hamstring. Hopefully it was just a case of taking him off so did no more damage and available for the last 3 games

We were outclassed in every department today how can you say we were unlucky to be 2 down?

We had some good chances in the first half....Villa knew we'd be anxious and took advantage.
I thought we played well first half. You can't win 'em all!

Thought first half we played well. We missed some decent chances, they scored theirs (from some poor defending it must be said). 60% possession and 11 shots in the first half from us. Second was really poor, I’d hoped we’d start in the front, pressing and basically just be up for it, but, especially when Tark went off, it was the opposite.

Noticed the empty Cricket field stand after their 3rd goal went in. it must have emptied by 40%- 50% clearly the emptiest stand in the ground.

It's not full to start with. You can't buy match tickets in there.

I’m often surprised how much louder away fans, in the Cricketfield stand, are than our own. Even when apparently outnumbered.

Out of interest where do you sit? Bob Lord side?
I sit in there and unlike today, don't always hear the away fans too much

It's unfair to criticise the atmosphere when we conceded after just 7 minutes. The Turf never had a chance to get going tbh and we were rocked onto our heels just as much as the team tbf.

There's more away fans in there than home. Home fans just get big wooden seats to sit on that take up a bigger area.
There's not many grounds left these days where home fans out sing away fans.

Fans were as much to blame as players for the defeat today. Watching it on my illegal stream I was almost embarrassed that in such a big game our fans in the ground didn't turn up.
At least with the next two games being away we'll have some proper support from the good fans but for any of you who went on today and plan to go on against Newcastle make sure you turn up and put in a performance as our season could well depend on it

Sounds like Gerard had a game plan ie playing Buendia behind Watkins, and several other key tactics. He said in the week he watched videos of our last 5 games. No doubt the plan was put in place and executed by his team.Whatever you do in life, there is no substitute for detailed planning

Are you f***ing joking or what?
We were great up to the first goal, fine up to the second goal, and there was no amount of atmosphere that was going to help after the third goal.
Should have been going in all level at half time though.

You go a goal down early, that’s when a home crowd should start playing their part. Unfortunately the Turf crowd aren’t good at doing that. Rarely have been

We get this thread after every home defeat. It was absolutely fine. An early goal is going to knock the stuffing out of the support a bit but it picked up again and obviously dissipated when the game went away from us.

Pretty easily
We were certainly competitive in the first half, the difference being they took their two chances and we missed our three (and Dwight really should have scored or squared it)
2nd half we were completely toilet, but again, tarks injury and the early third goal killed it
Crowd are not going to be singing a lot when we are 3-0 down

Doesn’t help us being surrounded by away fans. In todays case their youth team, previous games neutrals and or away fans. Pace and co have decided they want money in turn that does not help the atmosphere.

Nothing in that performance today to excite the crowd and not helped by bad defending that gifted the game to the opposition before it had began to get serious. A really poor effort by the players

The atmosphere was OK really, considering the game was as good as over after just half an hour.
Villa were just too good for us on the day.

I think the loss of Rodriguez and Vydra knocked the stuffing out of some fans, along with throwing away 2 cheap goals through poor defending certainly didn't do the cause much good.
No excuse for the Muppets in the cricket field deserting their post after the 2nd though, that lot really are part timers

1st half we played ok had 2 good chances and the crowd were decent I thought . True the 2nd was a shocker all round . Though when you have Barnes on , Kev Long on , Tarky off, no Vydra, Jay or cornet ( till late ) and Pieters coming on for Barnes you know it’s a day to forget

I only arrived just after the second goal. As I approached I saw the 2 go up on the screen. Seconds later one or 2 passed me going the other way!
The CFS is for those who wish to sing and generate the sound which others can join. Half empty makes one question the actual commitment to task!
We can still do this. Villa away we may well have a better chance. Tottenham slim but you never know.
Newcastle must win to be sure.
Leeds - who knows. They could lose the lot!

I know an early goal and performance in general has an impact on atmosphere but there were some weird vibes yesterday. Pay your money, do what you want in reason. But some near me barely watched any of the game, starting even before Ings' goal. They had their back to the pitch just nattering. I don't get that. Just go to the pub. And then they left early complaining - quite loudly - that "the atmosphere was flat."

I know us Bob Lorders don’t contribute much noise during match days other than the rustling of our packets of Uncle Joe’s Mintballs, however from where I sit I felt the whole atmosphere was flat all over the stadium yesterday in the Burnley sections. A very strange day. We did have key players out and even though we had a fair bit of the ball first half we played like we were half asleep. The chances we created were all down their keepers throat and he reminded me of one of those Subbuteo keepers with the arms fixed in the same position straight in front of him because that’s where all of our efforts ended up. Although Subbuteo keepers didn’t waste as much time as him.
As for the second half, still asleep and that early goal did us. After that I just wanted it to end as soon as possible to be honest. After the euphoria of the late show last week we chuck another one in like this. Then that shambles that is Northern Rail cancel the train to Preston from Manchester Rd. An afternoon to forget for me.
