...and Cornet ran onto it and scored!
That was a beautiful, Defouresque pass from the man for all seasons and positions.
Well done Erik. You can play an extra midfield against Spurs!

Cork Brownhill Pieters
McNeil Weghorst Cornet
In a 4-5-1/4-3-3 might be a decent option.
Although changing formations at this point may not be wise.

Maybe worth a try at Spurs which is more or less a free hit given our recent record there.

I've always liked Eric.
Never blessed with pace but reads the game well and is a calm head when all around.....
That pass yesterday was a thing of beauty.
And his missus is fit too.

We don’t have any free hits at this point

Think you’ve said more about your own understanding of football than anything else then.

Pieters is a key member of our squad, and when called upon rarely let's us down, players like him are invaluable especially for clubs with a smallish squad, and his versatility can't be underestimated either.
If we're going to Spurs to try and frustrate, then we could do far worse than deploy him on the left in place of Lennon, who after a brief revival around Christmas, has offered barely anything in recent games.

Don't think anyone mentioned Barnes and it was Austria not the Netherlands he was briefly linked with

Thought the same earlier today but don't think it's a massive change in formation from how we played against Southampton, just adds more to the defensive side. Can easily be a 451 with Erik as a spare midfielder. If Cornet pushes high up (as he probably should) then it's a sort of 442 with Erik out wide. Jackson has done well but I think we still need to address the weaknesses in midfield in games like Spurs. I'd play for a valuable point and use Cornet on the break.

Knowledge of football!!
I don’t think you ve ever played football if you rate him
Every local football teams had that big lanky centre forward who was going to be a world beater
We ve got a big lanky centre forward who has no idea
He ducks to a lower height to head a ball
He s no pace
He s got a first touch unless it’s his chest worse than Andre gray( look where he is now )
His only trick is to bring it down on his chest and lay it back
Please correct me if. I m wrong because from what I ve seen ( every game home and away) he s putting Nathon Peel on messi s level ( sorry nathon only a analogy)
As for Eric I ll reiterate he s a magnificent footballer love him to bits
