Stand up paddle boards

Any experts out there.
Want a couple before heading to the lakes to celebrate/commiserate the Newcastle result.
The internet is indecipherable. I’ve checked out one in decathlon which appears to be ok - £350 quid - paddle and pump extra. Needs to support a big lad , will be used in Cornwall’ smaller waves.

Anyone know of any reputable retailers either internet or north west based.

Decathlon boards are good quality for the price. Beware there are some cheaper ones out there that are rubbish.

If like me you are a "big lad" you need to go for a big board especially if you are a beginner. Decathlon do an 11 ft board which is pretty stable. Also don't skimp on the pump.

Good luck.

Of course get a buoyancy aid and stay safe. Those lakes are cold.

Very popular down here..but each to their own.. I find them hard work and far less versatile than a sit on kayak.
