It's worth noting we generally show up when it matters on the crunch final day clashes.
Won the title at Maine Road 1960.
Got the point needed at PNE in 1973 to clinch the 2nd Division title.
Beat Orient in 1987 when the stakes were far higher than Sunday.
Beat Plymouth in a relegation decider in 1998.
Beat Coventry in 2002, but due to other results cruelly missed out on a PO place
Beat Bristol City 5-0 in 2009 to seal our PO berth on the final day.
Won 3-0 at Charlton to seal the Championship title in 2016.
So historically we seem to relish these last day deciders when the pressure in on.

Thanks tiger76. In a time of mixed emotions and flawed thinking, those reminders are most welcome.

This won't help
Leeds have scored in the 90th minute this season 6 times
Rodrigo (90+4) v Wolves
Raphinha (90+4) v Palace
Bamford (90+5) v Brentford
Gelhardt (90+4) v Norwich
Ayling (90+1) v Wolves
Struijk (90+2) v Brighton

Only time I’ve felt let down in my burnley career - torquay away - play offs (but it was a good weekend in the big Apple nitespot) and Watford quarter final.
Other than that I’m with you.
4pm kick off suits us. Plenty of time for the town to have a good sup and roar us on

My M8 Kevin (DL fan) is fully expecting me to be buying the ale on Sunday (If we stay up I'm buying, if Leeds stay up he's buying) he is convinced they are going down not us ... had a long chat tonight in The Maypole about this season, he has been down about Leeds for a couple of months now ...
I hope I'm buying Sunday night

You’d do well here at Melbourne Clarets. We'll be at the pub for the 1am kick off, finish around 3am, home about 4am Monday morning!! Day off work booked.
It’s going to be a noisy night. We share the pub with Man City & Liverpool supporters clubs!!
#UTC.

They can score 6 more in the last minute, as long as we win. (Or as long as they're already 7 goals down!)

You could also add 1985, won our last game away to Walsall to move out of the relegation places. Unfortunately to move back into them a few days later when Swansea got a 0-0 draw.

Will be on the Anthem of the seas, will be sailing at 4pm my BFC union jack flag on view from our balcony.
I'm hoping it might be on the TV on the ship, if not I'll be on UTC match day thread to keep me and the grand kids informed.
Come on you Clarets

Brentford are unbeaten against Leeds at home in their last 10 home league games (W6 D4), a run stretching back to 1950.

The beauty of the point at Villa is that, that goal won’t matter if we’re winning

When was the last time we won our last game of the season? Was it Charlton away when we were crowned Champions?

Burnley have never played well (for the last 10 years at least) when we haven't given 100%.
See cup games or last few matches when safe.
We will 100% need this and be up for it.

Whatever happens tomorrow I and I Know all of you will still be ardent Burnley fans.
If we go down we will still be ardent Burnley fans.
What I won’t be able to accept is if we go down because of yet another injustice in decisions by refs / VAR tomorrow. If that is the case it will prove there is a conspiracy to keep the bigger clubs in the Premier.

It’s never been easy for Burnley fans! I must admit though that I’m more nervous than I’ve been for a long time. Whatever happens in the match against Newcastle…win draw or lose…nothing will change the pride I have in the club. If we stay in the Premier league, I will still get up in the middle of the night whenever necessary to watch them on TV…and it still won’t be easy being a Burnley fan!

Lawro is predicting we stay up. I know he has taken a lot of stick from us in the past but latterly he has been pretty fair and his prediction record is reasonable. I still haven’t forgiven him for THAT clearance off the line however

I hope we play it smart and delay as much as possible so the Leeds game finishes first. Spend an extra 5 minutes in the tunnel at half time, try get 5+ minutes added time in the first half.

Yes his final predictions this weekend, and he's got us to draw 1-1, and Brentford to beat Leeds 2-1, generally he is pretty accurate, so let's hope he's spot on with both calls.

From memory yes. but we haven't needed to win as we've already assured safety, or in the case of 2018 European football.

Not that reasonable. We've won 7 this season, and the only one he predicted was Brentford home.

Don’t all games have to kick off exactly the same time on the final day or is that just the first half?

Can add to the list some big pressure games that effectively sealed PL survival - admittedly not the last game - but Palace away when Gray scored; Wolves at home when Dwight scored and last year at Fulham spring to mind

When Man City beat Man United to the title, it was the delay in second half kick-off that saved them. City were ready to kick off but United weren't, so City delayed a couple of minutes. At the end of the game, United had 3 minutes extra time but City had 5, and it was with 2 minutes to go that QPR knew they were safe from relegation regardless of result, and (deliberately or carelessly) stopped playing so City scored two easy goals. If the matches had kicked off 2 minutes apart, they would have finished at the same time and City wouldn't have had that edge.
