Interesting read. I've lived in Sheffield for nearly 20 years and never heard of it.

Same here, about twenty years, only a few miles from me, too, in Oughtibridge!

I might give it a go but sounds very similar to the otley chevin fell race which I’m doing on Wednesday.
The brutal fell races are in the lakes. 1000ft of climbing in a 1 mile is always interesting, particularly when coming down

Starts about 200 yards from my house and the route is a killer - down hill for half a mile on easy roads then feels vertical to get up to Stannington up the footpath, its bad enough walking it, couldn’t imagine running it, then on the way back its back down then all the way up again to the start.
