We haven’t been to Wembley that often but on this date we’ve played there twice.
1. Wolves in Sherpa Van in 1988
2. Stockport in play-off in 1994
Two days with lots of memories, more so the second of them with our first Wembley win.

Both great days for different reasons. Enjoyed them both but surpassed by the day we returned to the top flight. Still brings a tear to my eye!

Without a doubt but the two on this date were both special in their own way. The first gave a lot of Burnley fans a first chance to see us at Wembley and the second was a big win, taking us up a division.

Remember 1994 well.
Outnumbering the Stockport fans considerably
The early Stockport goal
The John Francis injury
Two sendings off by David Ellary
Kevin Francis changing his shorts
The amazing Eyres jinking run
The Steve Davis solo effort
The Parkinson celebration
The victory!!

Coming so soon after avoiding the drop made it even more special.

Remember them both but 94 was obviously the more enjoyable! Ted 'The Tin Man' Mcminn was superb that day and Eyres goal was one to savour.

Radio Lancs reporter David Jones in goal for us. Over 40 I think only applied to his waist measurement....

He was. He was a hell of a size.
Have a story about Jones who was not a popular figure in the press box. We were 1-0 down against Cambridge when he decided to go and get some more food. While away we conceded a second but no one told him. He continued doing his updates for RL believing the score was still 1-0 including his final summing up. We did lose the game 2-0.
