Great news for fans.

Sadly doesn't apply for the championship.

Some are in for a shock next season when they see some of the prices at away grounds in the championship

It’s good news that the cap remains but there will be some considerably more than £30 for us next season.

I remember QPR ripping us off for more, years ago!

It will be interesting how much we charge away supporters - it will have to be a careful consideration for the board

there will be quite a few clubs with fans who will want to see what our time in the PL has done to change the place, they may be disappointed, and no doubt take the opportunity to put one over on us

Reading have been charging away fans £20 but from next season will only do it for games where the opposition are prepared to reciprocate for their fans when they play away games.

They only saving grace is some more local driving, coach or rail travel might be cheaper to substitute the higher ticket costs

what they should do is take the old Arsenal approach and charge away fans what the Clarets fans were/are charged at their grounds..

I remember going to the Emirates in the pre £30 ticket cap days, and we were charged the same price as the Arsenal fans were at Turf Moor.

Thats the fair way to do it. Clubs shouldn`t take advantage of bigger travelling support (I assume we will have a large away support when I say that like we used to)

Sure there's a club in the Championship that said they will charge £20 for away fans, but only if it is reciprocated for their fans

I have always thought an approach like this is the correct one.

I remember Blackpool thinking it was funny giving Preston a smaller allocation than every visiting team last season and Preston duly returned the compliment and gave Blackpool 2000 for the match at Deepdale. Their own fans then turned on Blackpool for making so many of their own fans miss out due to their petty approach.

Always funny to treat away fans like s**t right up until you get some back.

Not so at Arsenal and they charge us less than we charge them. For whatever reason they’ve continued with their categories and we are in the bottom category. Our cheapest game last season.

If they went in hospitality in the Longside and compared to a previous visit, I don't think they'd be disappointed.

As for the ground, it's definitely been modernised, corners filled in with new stands, LED's (if they are used next season).

Facilities in the away end appear just as bad though.

depends what expectations they have I guess.

I was talking about Arsenal when we came up in 2008/09 Tony not since the price cap.

I "think" we were charging £25 a ticket to away fans and Arsenal reciprocated, whereas with the robbing B*****ds at Chelski it was over £40 a ticket (again if memory serves)

But you will know better than me ... so I stand to be corrected if wrong.

I think Reading have it right with this scheme. More clubs should do the same.

We can only charge away fans the maximum of what we charge home fans sitting behind the goals.

That is £30 at the minute but they could put home prices up as well?

They actually charged us £33 (adult) in that first season in the Premier League. Since the cap came in they’ve charged us £26.

If i was a mischievous man, i'd set the price for match day tickets in the CFS as 50 quid and only reduce if the away team agreed to reciprocate a lower price for our fans visiting there.

That would mean the tickets in the home end of the CFS would have to be £50 as well wouldn't it?

I think the serial offenders for charging through the roof were always Leeds, Sheffield Wednesday and Ipswich.

Won't have to worry about any of those next season.

I can't remember the exact price (I try to erase such things, from my head, to avoid nightmares) but I remember my eyes watered.

Well, as we arent overly keen on selling individual match tickets there, it feels pretty moot
