The following players will depart the Club upon expiry of their contract: James Tarkowski, Ben Mee, Aaron Lennon, Erik Pieters, Dale Stephens, Phil Bardsley, Joel Mumbongo, I Richard Nartey, Anthony Glennon, Anthony Gomez Mancini, Ethen Vaughan, Sam Unwin, Harry Allen and Calen Gallagher-Allison.
The following players remains in discussion with the Club over a contract extension: Matej Vydra, Jack Cork
The following players have had their contract options activated to stay at the Club a further year: Ashley Barnes, Max Thompson and Ne-Jai Tucker.
The following U23 players have been offered a new contract: Finn Armstrong, Dara Costelloe, Rob Harker, Joe McGlynn, Jake Rooney and Ben Woods.
The following U18 players have had their scholarships extended for a further season: Benn Ward, Sam Waller, Dan Sassi, Keelan Williams, Dane McCullough, Jacson Coppack, Will Hugill, Kade Ratchford and Jacob Hamilton.
The following U18 players will depart the Club upon expiry of their scholarship: Ruiari Behan, Will Couch, Sean Etaluku, Jack Leckie, Joe Smyth-Ferguson and George Walters.
The following players are in contract with the Club for the 2022/23 season: Nick Pope, Wayne Hennessey, Bailey Peacock-Farrell, Will Norris, Sam Waller, Matt Lowton, Connor Roberts, Nathan Collins, Kevin Long, Bobby Thomas, Jacob Bedeau, Charlie Taylor, Owen Dodgson, Mark Helm, Adam Phillips, Josh Brownhill, Ashley Westwood, Johann Berg Gudmundsson, Dwight McNeil, Maxwel Cornet, Lewis Richardson, Michael Mellon, Jay Rodriguez and Wout Weghorst.

Glad to see Costelloe signing on too, he could be in and around the first team this season.

Tbf, an era in which we’ve been on the decline for a few years, I guess you’ve got to start a fresh approach eventually. Let’s see what the next month brings

We needed a complete overhaul this summer. Mee and Tarkowski will be the only ones that will be difficult to replace.

If VK is the new manager perhaps Ben feels he wouldn’t fit into a new system.
Certainly the end of an era. Wether that’s good or bad only time will tell

By my reckoning that is 15 first team squad players Plus Vydra and Cork offered contracts. Out of those it is possible a few will go like Weghorst Cornet and maybe McNeil and Pope

Yeah fair point. Assuming he signs given he was near the first team.
A name I’d forgotten about in our squad list for next season is Jacob Bedeau. From reports Morecambe fans rated him highly and from the sounds of it he’s very much a ball playing centre half - left footed too. Could be involved in the first team as we know VK wants his cb’s to be able to play a bit.

Could not agree more. Hope this means we are getting two new CH's one of whom starts with Collins , the other who can drop in, mindful of 46 league games, plus Cups and many weekday matches You dont get loyalty like Mee anymore-a few exceptions ie Mark Noble. He has been immense for us. I hope this means we dont try to sell Collins and there will be interest. Not having him, Tarks or Mee in the new season would be detrimental,

If you break it down into positions we look absolutely fine in the goalkeeper department and could do with another centre half but the midfield and attack is a real concern.
Need to get some quality signings in VK!

Very sad to see Ben leave, especially without having the opportunity to show our appreciation.
I also thought Eric would do a job in the championship, he never looked poor in the Prem.
The rest of the first team was as expected.
A few surprises in the U23s, I'm no e pert, and never get to see them as, but you always hope some of them will make the grade. Good luck to them all, who knows in a few years they might be playing for Hungary.
It does feel more and more like the end of an era, but I think we desperately needed a change. The sadness is surpassed by the excitement the new season could bring .
Should it take VK, more than one season to turn us around so be it, so long as we show signs of going in the right direction, he'll have my full support.

Lumbered? All 4 have been very good servants to the club.
Bar Gudmundsson, I expect the other 3 to play a big part next season in getting us back up.
We still have bundles of PL experience and if we combine that with a few exciting young players, especially from City, then it could be a good combination.

Lots of positions to be filled, including those likely to leave us like Weghorst, Pope and Cornet.
Similar to a poster above I thought Gomez Mancini looked a good prospect, especially in the Pre season games last year when he featured.
Going to have to get a wriggle on!
