I know golf is a different sport but could the arab money be the future of football with a super league ? or has that boat sailed with the uproar from the attempted breakaway recently where clubs ended up with the tail between their legs. Football is now solely about the money will that eventually talk if the middle east (who are already involved in obviously City and Newcastle) if they come swinging the big big bucks ?

Almost inevitable I would have thought in the fullness of time.

Haven't the PL clubs all signed an agreement in the last week saying they wouldn't go this way??

How many PL clubs would you think might say one thing and do another?

Good post, was just thinking the same.
Credit to McIllroy & Thomas for sticking their fingers up to LIV. Was never an avid fan of Rory, but loved his dig at the great white (money) shark
Hoping they stick to their guns, as opposed to many others

Indeed, a given word is worth nothing in the football industry nowadays.

It's probably easier for them to just continue to buy clubs instead.

A lot will depend on how Super League fares at the the European Courts when the hearing starts next month
from the MMT

It has taken a while but there is finally a date for the European Court of Justice to hear the case of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus (plus the other co-conspirators in Super League) against UEFA's monopoly

Date set for European Court of Justice hearing into Super League company v UEFA. Feels like a big moment: Is UEFA abusing its monopoly position?
Two day hearing: July 11-12

Like with the recent attempts of the breakaway league wouldn't it struggle to get off the ground due to fan pressure?

For every fan who goes to games there are hundreds, if not thousands watching from armchairs around the world who are gagging for this kind of ****. I suspect they will get what they want.

So why did the recent attempt at a super league collapse under fan pressure?

Probably because the club's weren't prepared for the reaction.
The desire of the majority, combined with the greed of the clubs will win out eventually

Fan pressure caused the collapse along with complaints from those clubs βnot invitedβ.
I can see a Super League eventually but the next time they will invite more clubs and have say 3 or 4 leagues with promotion and relegation and the money in the bottom League will outstrip what is currently on offer in our premier league.

The Super League WILL happen, and clubs like Burnley will NEVER have a seat at the table.

Fine. The PL (and German, Spanish, French & Italian leagues) will be more competitive without a few elite clubs taking up the top few positions every season.
Let them have their money league, ban them from the UEFA competitions and the domestic cups too, and rebuild European football from grassroots up.
