PV solar panels

Just signed up for some but without battery backup. The salesman said at €5k we wouldn’t make it back!
My question is without the battery does that mean as soon as the sun goes down we trip over to paying our supplier?
Also on selling back to our supplier are they taking our excess constantly?, this really has me stumped without the battery for them to draw from.

Every bit you do not use goes into the system ... with ours we get payed for every kilowatt we produce regardless of how much we use ... like I said on a previous thread ... we get paid around £600+ per year and we also save around £600 on our pre-installation usage ... they were fitted in 2014 and paid for themselves within the predicted 5 years ... our feed in tarif is paid for 25 years by British Gas so in theory we should make around £25k profit

He has said €'s so may not be UK based ... most of the companies that were about 8 years ago are no longer about (or swallowed up by others) ... the company we used were from Halifax but are no longer trading (under the same name anyway)

I got mine in 2011 so I’m on the maximum tariff, I get around £16-£1700 per year index linked for 25 years. Great investment, cost me £9k but had £16k back so far with another 14 years to go.
I’ve considered adding batteries to my system but not really looked into it in detail. Has anyone any experience of them on here, how much etc?

We are in Ireland, Oakworth. The fitting firm is activ8energy but we were put onto them after filling in a form on facebook. They have a very good record over here.

I used Solarlec from Burnley but they’re not in business anymore.

There is talk of battery systems from EV's that are end of life (no longer viable for cars) being refurbished for Solar PV systems

Be careful of caveats regarding issues with your roof if you have solar panels, my dad is a roofer and won’t touch panels of there is an issue with a roof, many companies stipulate they have to remove and reinstall….an issue if they have gone bang!!

I filed a section 75 claim against the finance company for mis-selling my solar installation.
The company that sold it went out of business a year after installation.
4 years in and I have only recieved 1000 GBP from FIT.
Finance company agred to refund half of the 9k installation fee

Did they tell you that you would produce much more than you actually are?
