Not a surprise if you've been following this story, it's one of several 80's classics featuring in the Netflix hit Stranger Things, that's what brought it back to prominence again.

Originally reached number 3 in 1985 I think, so it has been a long wait to finally hit the top of the charts.

Never paid much attention to her and I only knew Wuthering Heights (which I don’t like) until recently.

Heard RUTH on Stranger Things and now a big fan. As a fell runner it’s gone straight onto my running play list

I also loved this song when it first came out and have been playing it ever since. Great to see it top of the charts. Kate Bush was/is such a ground breaking talent (and gorgeous).

It amazes me that people don’t know this song, whether they’re an eighties child or before / after. It’s a proper classic.

Kate Bush is a bit of an oddity - a little weird looking and an even weirder public persona. She’s bloody talented though.

I think it’s brilliant that Stranger Things has brought a whole new fan base to some ‘older’ music. It’s a song that’s been remixed/redone a good few times (Placebo to name but one)

So far, there isn’t a version that comes close to the original.

Just read that she owns the rights to the song 100%.

She’s earning somewhere around 250k a week for a song she brought in 1987. Crazy isn’t it

A thread ostensibly celebrating the talent of a women turns a bit pervy.

Not that I'm complaining - just celebrating the fact that in a changing world some things do stay the same.

I didn't think they still had the charts. It used to be a big thing, listening to the countdown on Sunday evenings. Now I wouldn't have a clue who is currently number one.

Really like her music and her originality. She's one of a few genuinely original aritsts out there who isn't afraid to experiment and seems happy to be herself.

Take away the lonely old fellas and their sad, gentle misogyny and there's not much left during the off-season on here.

Anyway, back to a very unique artist.. I heard This Woman's Work on the wireless a few years ago, made me listen to a bit more of her stuff. Good that she's getting more rewards now from a new generation.

There are very few songs I despise with a passion, but that is one of them.

Fair play to her though, for having a song that makes her so much money every year.

Last week it was Harry Styles, with Kate Bush number 2, on the big top 40 on Heart FM.

Styles has been top for 2mths I think

They do still have the charts, but the way it's calculated is vastly different to back in the day, I think it's mainly if not exclusively based on streaming now.

And normally I'm like you in having no idea who's topping the charts, it's only because this Kate Bush renaissance has attracted media interest as you'd expect, that folks who don't generally follow the current trend are taking an interest.

It does yet again show the power of getting your music in a big show or movie though, and that's something which hasn't changed down the decades.

Danger Zone by Kenny Loggins appeared in the chart again because of Top Gun Maverick

Probably one of the few times I could get away with playing it loud when out in the car 8-)

Or even Cath or Cathy Bush?
Maybe even Catherine Bush?

What would be the best Bush?

"This Woman's Work"is a masterpiece from probably the greatest woman artist to ever walk the planet...listening to Hounds of love now so relaxing....my all time favourite album by KB though is 50 Words for snow from 2011...simply magnificent.
