My word - the brilliant Lindisfarne

I've thrown a few 'sickies' in my time to go to these but not any more, I shall be going as an upstanding, retired senior citizen.

Pete Barton has done a great job

Saw Crow Black Chicken supporting ZZ Top and they are a good show. Very similar sounding for a support act.
Enjoyed them that much I asked one of the band what was their best and latest album and I bought them. Electric Soup and Pariah Brothers, and I don’t waste me money.

And Creedence Clearwater Revival to boot.

I thought the same initially, but if you read it carefully it says "CLEARWATER CREEDENCE REVIVAL"
No doubt they will be very good though. (tribute band ?)

Bookings like Lindisfarne and Dr Feelgood are highly impressive. Really glad it’s back.

I listen to almost anything and I’m known as the most diverse of music fan’s throughout my friends and family but I’ve yet to enjoy the music at a blues festival in Colne and I’ve really tried! Having said that, I’ll likely go because it’s a good do and I enjoy a beer

Saw them a couple of months back at Exhibition Park Newcastle on home turf. Only one original member still in the group, Rod Clements however they are still a fantastic turn and very tight. It’s easy to forget how many banging tunes they churned out and how poignant were many of the lyrics written by Alan Hull.

Great singalong as well. Don’t miss it.

So glad it is back, puts the town on the map and more importantly a real boost to the local pubs and clubs.

Especially given the fact that you don't like any of the music at at the blues festival.
Did your mum and dad meet at donk night at mode?

Believe it or not it was over fifty years when I first saw them live, went with a uni mate who just happened to be a Geordie.

I always say I want to go and watch some bands, but normally spend the weekend drinking outside, especially if the weather's good. Be good to have it back after the last few years.

I can say with 100% certainty that John Fogerty will not be performing in Colne this year. Neither will Doug Clifford and nor will Stu Cook. Tom Fogerty passed away in 1990 so it’s safe to say he won’t be there as well

The Allman Brothers Band, my favourite band of the 70’s, very tempted to see this tribute band.

It's pretty clear from the line up that this isn't the original band.
Unfortunately, I didn’t take the time to read the bands name, but hey, who really gives a flying **** about such trivialities?

I'm sure I saw Lindisfarne with Santana and Dylan back in 82 at St James Park but the mind is going so can't exactly remember.

Proud of East Lancashire for keeping the Blues alive seen so many great bands at the Mechanics. All due respect to the organisers and funders...!

Like, someone above will definitely check out the Allman Brothers always love their slide guitar on blues classic like Robert Johnson's "Come on in my kitchen"..

At one time, tickets for them were like gold dust.

They were brilliant live back then

I was also there that day ...St James Park the year 1984 ....fantastic day ...and sunny.Dylan.Santana and Lindisfarne.

Alan Hull was the soul of that band without doubt. City Song is my favourite closely followed by Peter Brophy Don’t Care and Clear White Light. Honourable mention for Passing Ghosts as well

They are on at City Hall 17th December.

I note that they are touring extensively including a gig in Oswaldtwistle on 30th September.

I think Foggarty is on in Las Vegas this year so I’m fairly certain the one in Colne will be a tribute band. However, if they play a full Creedence set half decent it should be a cracker.

Saw nine below zero at Uni. 1981? Superb.
