Season doesn't officially end until the end of June though does it?
The transfer window opening usually signals the start of the new season, which is probably when I'd expect things like that to be changed.

FFS its a website and can be changed anytime. Championship fixtures are out tomorrow at 9am. Not a mention. No build up or excitement. just the same old dreary content.

Seasons ended in May and the three relegated clubs were officially removed from the Premier League two weeks ago. Not sure where your end of June thought comes from.

they do a lot on Twitter and have done about the fixtures. Whoever does our website would have been the first person I would have fired though, it is truly awful

What you must understand is that it is no longer Burnley Football Club, that has now gone, it is a football enterprise based in Burnley.

Without wanting to accuse members of this site of being old so and sos, for my generation (35 and under) websites are generally obsolete in many spheres. Social media is king/queen and where the club gets its exposure.
This also applies to fans overseas who perhaps missed the .com era but are fully on social media now.
I think I could count on one hand the number of people my age who use Burnley’s website for anything other than buying tickets.

Perhaps to illustrate the social media vs website aspect - our Twitter account has nearly 700,000 followers (several tens of thousands added since Kompany joined). And the Instagram account has just under 500,000 followers.
Both dwarf the population of Burnley, and probably it’s true fanbase, and likely dwarf the number of clicks the website will get each year.

So is that an excuse to run a poor website ?

I go on the club website once a year to renew my season ticket. Other than that most of my news links to the club are via social media. I’m not young either.
I suspect most football clubs see their websites as low priority for anything other than ticket and merchandise sales.

I know it is trendy to whinge at the club for anything and celebrated by others on doing so since we have new owners but I was thinking what the purpose of the official website is. I too use it for season ticket renewal and buying away tickets. Apart from those 2 situations I cant think of anything I would need to go on the website. Certainly not to look at the league table for a season that hasn't started yet to see where we are in the table.

Yes, social media has more value than the club website.
But if you are going to have a website it should be maintained in a professional manner shouldn't it?
Websites might no longer be THE source of information from a club but I tell you what, if I was a potential sponsor/investor, part of the due diligence before signing up to anything would be to look at the website. You can learn an awful lot about a company by checking out their website. It is a club property and if it is poorly maintained it reflects badly.

You're going to be fu(ked then when you get to 36.

It would be a bit pointless for them to show the Championship table under "current standings" before a game has been played.

I mentioned the website the other day as I saw the club had uploaded photos from the first day of training. The photos are really small (at least for me on desktop). At least they didn't lose much quality when I zoomed in but still feel a club of our stature could have a better website than we currently do.
This is the page I'm referring to:

I still use premium rate phone lines for all my clarets news and The Pink for results.

You can’t beat CLUBCALL, Stan Ternent ruing another defeat and sacking Blatherwick!

I went on to buy 3 season tickets this morning, gave up after an hour, its just impossible and keeps stating I don't have an account when I had already created 3 accounts each needing separate emails despite them being my children and not having emails.
I'll call the ticket office, and try that way

Clubcall they were the days: a five minute intro at premium rate to get to the scoop… usually the original version of click bait and obligatory interview - a telephone conversation recording that said nothing like the headline.
Carried the little fixture cards around in the wallet all season, just in case I ever had to ring ‘in an emergency’ as gossip suggested something was happening… amazing they managed to never be close to an exclusive, despite having a virtual monopoly on Claret news (in the days before t’internet).

Yes, kind of. I guess the point I was making is that having a very snazzy and up to date website isn’t really worth the effort these days.

Would strongly disagree - I cover corporate debt for work (journo) and the vast majority of websites of the companies I cover are dreadful - they don’t get updated for years. And they still raise billions of dollars annually from investors.

So I’m wasting my time having a very snazzy and up to date website then , I get lots of business through mine .

I didn’t say that - I suggested that for Burnley (and most other football clubs) having a proper website isn’t much of a priority these days.
