So her in doors has just found out she's got covid again so I'm doing a test. I'm fully vaccinated and had it in April for 5/6 weeks. Anyone had it twice and if so did you find it easier then the first time? Bloody school teachers
Supposed to be off to Spain in 4 weeks

Had it twice also. Neither too bad. You'll be fine for Spain.

I've had it twice. Caught it again from my mate at the cricket last week. Both times you would say it was like having the flu, but first time I had a really bad cough that wouldn't go away for about a week. 2nd time most recently it was more hot / cold sweats and generally feeling "off". Felt a LOT more tired with it post covid the 2nd time around.

Hopefully but I had chest pain and breathing difficulties a month after the acute stage/the start of symptoms. Anyway touch wood (not Chris) that it won't be like that this time if I've got it.
It wasn't too bad for me first time til a month later. Barely had a cough really but had a high temperature for a few days.

My m8s Mrs similar ... She has tested positive twice and been quite poorly both times and he didn't catch it either time (he tested negative both times but stayed at home, just in case he was a carrier)

I still struggle to breath now. I'm under a long covid team.

Had it in January but I’m convinced I’ve had it recently but every test came back negative

Not yet had a positive test, but convinced I had it at the end of 2019... some 3 months before the first lockdown. I've since been told it may have been in the country since late 2019, so who knows. Another test a few weeks ago but was just 'man flu'.
However, a colleague I work with says he's had it 3 times and also suffered a bit from long covid.

I was fairly ill for a week, but it was only after my partner, Natasha tested positive that I tested.. by which time I was negative. I believe the new variants are so far behaving as other viruses (like Spanish Flu) and getting less dangerous, but spreading faster. Killing the host is bad business for viruses, the main risk is a variant arriving from elsewhere, somewhere Vaccines haven’t reached spreading a rebel variant that has not been so rigorously defended/challenged.
It was however the first time I had attended a busy pub in nearly three years… I still haven’t repeated the experiment. With so many variants now circulating I’m sure catching it more than once is now the norm, but being fully vaxed seems to be working at the moment; sure you’ll be fine for you holiday.

Yes I’m pretty sure I also had it very early, pre-lockdown. I remember being far more ill with what I thought was a bad flu. Long Covid is a bloody nuisance. I still haven’t recovered from my mild attack a few weeks ago, but the first time it took months to regain my equilibrium, fatigue like I’ve never experienced.

Same here. My missus too. She works for the NHS and is convinced that there is a major strain out there that hasn't been recognised.

When I caught it last week, I had symptoms on the wednesday evening. I was pretty sure it was covid as my mate tested positive and told me. I since took 3 negative tests daily and then tested positive on the Sunday. They are very hit and miss.

Tested negative but I do feel a bit ill. Daughter negative too at the moment but as some have said I think tests are hit and miss. A question, and this may not even have an answer or is just a stupidly thick question which it probably is but if you've got long covid can you still catch covid again? I.e. go through the acute stage again whilst having long covid

I may have had it twice. I was hospitalised in Austria in March 2020 but they said it was pneumonia. I’ve got it now on the UK and it feels similar but not as bad - same symptoms but less intense. I suppose that may be because I’m vaccinated.

Had it twice but had symptoms of it four times…I suspect I’ve had it thrice. I work in a germ factory (primary school).

I think I had it really early, before the test kits, and I've tested positive on 3 occasions since then.
The thing is that because of my partner's work we test weekly which has to increase one's chance of testing positive, with or without what may appear to be ordinary cold symptoms

Had it twice, and now seem to be suffering from a lot of chest infections. I have had 3 this year already.

Wouldn't that be nice,
averaging about 2,000 cases per day at present being reported.

Family member has had it twice, first time pre vaccine really poorly, second time few weeks ago after vaccines and booster like a cold and a headache for a couple of days, research now aimed at finding out why one partner gets it and other doesn't as happened in our family.

Like the common cold then. Lets move on and get one with life globally. Some countries aiming for zero covid still. Nuts!

Interesting. My partner hasn't had it, despite even working where many have.

I have had it twice. First time was January 2021 pre vaccinations. I was extremely poorly and wasn’t able to leave my flat for over three weeks.
Second time was two weeks ago. Started to feel all achy then quite bad cold symptoms set in but nothing to worry about.
As long as we are only getting these mild variants I think we should just treat it like getting a cold now and get on with our lives.
It’s lingered too long this Covid, and the fear of it.

March 2020 - just before lockdown. Night sweats like I had ****** myself for three nights, sore throat, headache general flu like symptoms. Then suffered sunburn whilst recuperating. What a March that was during lockdown!
March 2022 - two years to the day. Positive test - Covid lite. Less symptoms than a cold.

I agree, I think it's being overprioritised.
However, I think scientists will be working on it, and the information they get through test results, for some time to come.

The mildness is due to the vaccination - imagine if they hadn't prioritised it

One can rest assured that the walking Hospital ward that is uptheclarets will have no end of “ double dosers” along with pretty much any ailment and symptom known to man

I thought I was unbeatable, I’ll be honest I was in pubs with large groups every weekend, caught it on ‘mad Friday’ felt horrific for 24 hours then just had a cough for a week.
Might have had it since but don’t test anymore tbh

I got it after being fully vaccinated. Like I said I was not that bad for the first week or 2 then boom chest pains and difficulty breathing for around 3 weeks (which is still on going to a degree but not as bad) hopefully, if I get it again which looks nailed on, I won't have the bugger for that long again.

Definitely not a thing of the past when the figures were up 47% last week, and 22% in the week just ended. 1.7 million that they know about had the virus in the latest report. I caught it for a second time over the jubilee weekend, suddenly started sneezing on the Tuesday and full blown by Wednesday. Lots of people are going to work with it and not even testing because the government also think its a thing of the past, for most it's mild symptoms because of the vaccine, personally I was quite ill on both occasions, but more so second time although tested negative quicker than first time. Unfortunately I take immunosuppressants as I'm a renal transplant patient which as I say resulted in me having a full blown dose of the virus, it is what it is, but people need to recognise it hasn't just gone away, including the government.
