Owing to rising costs the makers of Twix have reduced the dimensions of the product on sale
Needless to say the price has not been changed

Its called value engineering! Ive done value engineering on many food products over the years all good fun! Then 12 months later a new MD will come into the buisness with a vision of making a quality high end product. He/she will want everthing made bigger so always best to keep all your notes to reverse everything you did 12 months earlier... until the next one arrives and then obviously it all starts all over again

Reminds me of a project being undertaken at a customer that I was involved with. The company , GEC, spent about £3m on r & d surrounding a "new" idea, they hit a brick wall with progress so contacted a retired employee only to find the project has been researched years ago and had been abandoned at exactly the same point.

I’ve often explained to my son that when I was a teenager Mars bars were a really good size both in length and thickness compared to todays meagre efforts. In the good old days one Mars bar would fill you up, these days it would take at least two.

Don't you just love corporates? I worked in textile manufacturing production for 15 years and came across the corporate slime that stole a wage, mainly sales, marketing and HR.

What was your position with the company. Did you blow the whistle on them?

The Americans call this sort of thing Hershy drift. The constant tweaking of a product to save money results in a different product, Hershy chocolate is not what it was.
