BURNLEY 10K 2022

Just heard this happening next Sunday and most of Tod Road and Eastern Avenue will be closed for the day.
Were the residents of these areas asked if they were happy to be stuck at home whilst a bunch of chunky narcissists ran around the streets?

Brinshaw Rd is closed upto Springwood Rd, the top entrance into Towneley Park. So anyone coming into Burnley on the Halifax bus will probably be re routed via Todmorden Rd. Red Lees and Worsthorne residents planning to go out in their car via Brunshaw Rd, will be shafted as usual, unless they make long detours.
Surely there's enough car parking and running space for this worthwhile event to be held within the park, without the need to close a number of roads.

I’m sure that the many charities who will be benefiting from this appreciate your sentiments.

Not sure where you're getting that info from. Brunshaw Road is not closed. Harry Potts way is but that's just the section at the Turf.

No chance of that I am not even in the country - the EU would never allow these road closures

If I was attempt to run they'd have to keep that stretch open until at least tea time

Falcons, thanks for correcting my mistake. As I drive past the road race sign at the corner of Brunshaw Rd/Springwood Rd, I just saw the date of the race and couldn't read anymore. I'd made the assumption the race was being run on the same route as pre COVID, due to the signs position.

This is true, although my mate got one!
I was thirty seconds slower this year but when you consider the weather difference, I was happy!
