He has withdrawn and NK gets a bye through to the final.

I think he should have withdrawn from his last match as it was obvious he wouldn’t be able to compete.

I wonder if that will be it for him at Wimbledon now.

A shame if it ends like that. Brilliant player.

That great Final with Fed is the greatest I've ever watched.

If that is it, then at least he bowed out with a brilliant win, and went off the court to huge cheers of appreciation.

Brilliant player, and a fantastic sportsman. Never heard anyone have a bad word for him. One of the greatest of all time.

It’s amazing the levels that these players take the game to. I remember thinking I’d never see anyone better than Lendl (perhaps not on grass) then along comes Sampras, then Federer, soon followed by Nadal and Djokovic.

For Murray to even spend time at number one in the era he played in is testament to how well he did.

Que pena que te hayas tenido que retirar por una lesión.
Es una pena que no pudiste vencer a ese cabron arrogante y bocón de Australia.

Pity Nadal had to withdraw, but these things happen in tennis, a big advantage to NK avoiding a SF while either of his potential opponents battle it out today.

He is actually right handed. Says he plays tennis and football with his left but uses his right for everything else.

I used to think Jimmy Connors was the greatest competitor, not just in tennis but in sport full stop....until Rafa came along. A real pity we'll not see him in another grudge match against NK today, but given the longevity of his career he must rank as one of the very best of all time.

Hasn't he had a lot of injury problems compared to the others? I remember he had a few knee operations a number of years ago. If it wasn't for that he could be miles ahead of the rest.

All respect for his achievements, but Rafa should have quit during the game.

Has deprived the spectators of a semi final

Not taking anything away from Nadals but it shouldn’t be allowed that he (or anyone) can take x amount of painkillers to get through tournaments IMO. At the French open he said he hadn’t even felt his foot for two weeks. That can’t be right.

it was utter nonsense though.

i'm sure nadal does't take these decisions lightly. he's at the twilight of his career so he's probably desperate to play every point.

You're saying he should have deprived the Wednesday spectators of a quarter final because there was a risk the Friday spectators might not get a semi final?

Apparently Boris was great and he did love a great party.

Not really, I just think with the injury that was confirmed he should have quit during the game, maybe even in the 5th set (just as his family indicated). With the experience he has, and the amount of injuries he has suffered, it should have been clear to him that he could never be fully fit for a semi final a few days later.

Whether that's either common sense or utter rubbish, I'll let the keyboard warriors decide ;)
