Presume that's anywhere between 1st and 11th

It’s almost free money. Even if we have a shocking season I can’t see us finishing outside the top ten.
Our current squad has top 2 quality right now

taking a chance on us being crap you mean? given the seemingly decent odds?
I'm surprised we were 14/1 to win the title, behind the likes of Boro. Can't say there's too many Boro players I'd take here in our 11. We were miles better than Watford and Norwich last season too.

Oddschecker has Norwich favourites, Watford second then WBA and Boro ahead of us.
Cannot understand that as the team that came third last, had a massively better GD than the other two and a much longer period spent in the PL than any of the other yo-yo outfits.

That gap has been "bridged" so what with a new manager, new playing style to filter through the club, losing the spine of the team in Pope, Tarks and Mee, having Westy and Vid on long injuries, still rumours regarding Cornet, McNeill and Collins (I cant see come the end of the window having all those 3 still at the club but who knows) and the fact new signings have to hit the ground running. Its a lot to process, we lost our 3 best players and we cant afford to buy like for like we have had to buy potential and fingers crossed. Injuries play a big part as games come thick and fast and will we have the ability to score freely this season ? not sure. Take away the money aspect though and its exciting to see how all this unfolds.

Dont want to be a negative nancy.
But I could see potentially a ‘bedding in’ season where the players coming up a league find their feet and the group in general acclimatise to VK’s system.
I hope im wrong and they get off to an unbelievable start.
Player turnover, whilst needed in our case, tends to make progress become a hinderance at times likes this.
Its not betond the realms of possibility. Anderlecht had a poor first season under VK (I understand) then really got going the season after.
As a first time season ticket holder this season, I’m going into this new season firstly with a lot of excitement. But more importantly patience and a positive, hopefull for the future attitude.
Betfred might just be thinking VK has a similar result here as he did at Anderlecht.

Think the difference between the sides is Pukki, we need one.

Each year I do a bet of who will win each league, this year I have gone for:
Champ - Burnley
League 1 - Sheff Wed
League 2 - Stockport
FA Cup - Tottenham
League Cup - Man City
60p returns £24,000.

You’re going to lose that bet before anyone’s kicked a ball.
You’ve missed the Prem winners!!

I would have said City to win the league but I avoided it, I have this feeling with their signings so far and Conte in charge that Spurs will be a real dark horse this season and do well.

WBA might have a decent season if they get their act together, but top two will be us and Norwich.

Aye, so much better than Norwich that we failed to beat them twice.

Might be worth a look at the Waddle year threads to see similar sentiment after "exciting times" arrived in 1997.

To be fair if any of us were professional gamblers with a large wedge in which to gamble with £10k on would deliver over £5.5k return. If I had an abundance of cash, it would be worth lumping on.

I'd be reasonably confident of us pushing for a PO place, but as it stands top 2 might be a stretch, depends what other transfer business we conduct this window.

People who bet £10k at a time tend not to have an abundance of cash!

I wouldn't be so sure about that..... people who bet £10k on risky 4/7 shots however.... well that's a different kettle of fish.

Eight of us have bets on us.
1. We win the league - not much chance
2. We win promotion. More chance but not much more.
But. It will be interesting this seaon and I'm really looking forward to it but not expecting too much just yet following the re - build.

I had a bet last week, not as extravagant as some on here, but a tidy profit, if they come good. Mind you I had Palace, Brentford and Watford for relegation.

Professional gamblers do! That’s what they bet on, odds on bets.

Or as I like to refer to them "Beat Fred"
I recall that they paid out all punters who had backed Manchester City to win the Premier League just before Christmas, when City seemingly had an unassailable lead, in the end the margin was just 1 point.
He offered me 8/1 on Saturday about an eventual 6/1 winner so can't complain.
