As the thread title says, what do we think would be our starting 11 if we started the season tomorrow? I’d go…

Roberts McNally THB Taylor
Cullen
Bastien Brownhill
McNeil/Cornet Rodriguez Twine
I can’t decide between Cornet/McNeil. I haven’t included Hennessey as it sounds as though he’s on his way out.

Quite simply BPF is not good enough...so I'll go Hennessey then, we have been spoilt with Heaton & Pope ....Farrell isn't half of what they where for us.

I think Hennessey will go as soon as we sign Muric. (or other target)
I also think we should try to ship out Norris.

I really wouldn't know BB never took an interest in his career,always believed he was a squad player with not much going for him...he was useless at Leeds

Bastien perhaps instead of Jack, I’ve no idea what he like though.
Expecting Cornet to go, I think whoever replays best pre season out of Barnes and Jay starts. I prefer Jay

Something like this. Maybe Bastien for one of Cork / Brownhill but may depend on opposition/ formation. I don’t expect Hennessy and Cornet will stay although I’d prefer they did. GK and Striker next and hopefully keep McNeil. Pretty much there then.

Not necessarily a bad thing though, I like the look of our new signings, but we do still need a new keeper if Hennessey is off, and we all know we need someone younger who knows where the back of the net is

Harsh on McNeill but he could come into the side if either Brownhill or Cornet leave.

Difficult to second guess what system VK will deploy, but my 2 concerns are goalkeeper and a striker. I'm surprised there's not more vocal support for Hennessey, for me he's always been a top keeper and I'd like to see him given his chance, unlikely as it seems.

If Hennessey stays then I’ve no concern with him being the number 1, I think that most are saying BPF because of the consistent links Hennessey will be off (which admittedly is contradictory to the topic and OP)

Why would I pick somebody to play tomorrow who it sounds like has already agreed to play for another club?

I presume people are leaving out Brownhill because they think he is leaving? But this wouldn't explain the omission of Cork, who most felt was underused in the Premier League last season...
I'll be pleasantly surprised if our new midfielders are already an improvement on those two, but somehow doubt it.

Because he's currently our best keeper and surely the point is (althought it does seem a pretty pointless exercise) is to pick the best team from the players available i.e the current squad.

A very high % of games yes. Especially in the past season or so.
