I could get used to watching this lad play football.

Did he misplace a pass?

Still biting into the tackle right to the end...we have a new hero .

That’s how a player should play in the pivot role. His speed of thought and comfortable on the ball with that 360 pirouette thing that Wade Elliot used to do to create space. Our midfield looks strong at this level.

Absolute quality tonight. The 'Kompany way' certainly allows someone of his attributes to shine

Once we can get Westy back, a 3 of him, Cullen & Cork fighting for those 2 holding/central midfield positions is very strong at this level.
Happy days!

Good performance, but we need a back up for him in this system

96.3% pass completion for Cullen - and there were quite a number of line breaking passes too, the flick through for Brownhill was top and should have got an assist with that lovely ball to Roberts.

Top man. Kind of player Burnley fans will love. With him and Cork and Brownhill and Bastien our CM must be the strongest in the Championship.

Think Westwood will have a challenge to break into the midfield when finally fit

Extremely good. I like a player who does the nitty gritty and puts a shift in for the team (and then quality to boot). Bit like Barton in some respects.

Bloody marvelous to go from having a pretty abject toothless midfield for a few seasons to some real potential............early , early doors but boy was it great to watch 😁

I thought he was a midfield sitter who'd sit in front of the back four and keep it simple.

Wow wow wow wow wow. Bloody fantastic player.

If that is anywhere near a regular performance he will go for very big money very soon. Let’s enjoy him while we can.

Brilliant without being showy.

Always wanted the ball, comfortable playing on the turn, breaks the lines with his passes ……… all the stuff the stats stuff said but in real time.

He’ll get lots of assists for assists. Key man.

A pivot is a centre half

Looks awesome and I never get excited about our players. At last we have a proper footballer who plays the game like a proper centre midfielder,he looks a different level than we have ever been used to

I'm sure like many we went into the game not really knowing much about the signings and what to expect but 20 mins in we were overwhelmed with the quality and Cullen stood out a mile and Im not being negative but if
we can get a striker or one of our existing can read his passes we will get a pan full ! I feel a fit Vydra would be perfect but hey ho superb start ...

I said he was the new Dean Marney, but after last night maybe the new Joey Barton. Now lets find the new championship Andre Gray and we are then cooking

If anything I think he looks more like a Defour than the other two.

Retain possession and move the ball quickly
